Macan EV reviews are out!
I’ve been cross shopping and noticed some iX drivers have interest in the Macan as well, embargo is lifted so there is a barrage of articles and YT reviews.

I hate the styling of the rear end, and no rear wiper which is puzzling. It no doubt will be a joy to drive, but the ‘Porsche tax’ on these is huge and Porsche lease rates always stink.
Personally I don’t find the Macan a competitor to the iX, a better fit might well be the iX 3 Neue Classe when it’s released. |

In external dimensions the Macan is smaller but trunk in volume is the same as it the iX3/iX … and it has a frunk which makes the total volume available bigger. (Though without the divider the practical volume is bigger for the iX and iX3) If one thing the rear passengers have more space in the iX … |

I'm not worried about 'trunk' space per se; rather interior room for occupants is more important. I do think the PPE architecture might be very good from VW/Audi/Porsche, but I'm still not convinced that the damn UI will be any good. Fingers crossed though as I might be partial to an RS6 etron variant in the future. |

I’m certainly interested in this for a few years from now when will probably be cross shopping latest BMW offering vs this Porsche offering as a replacement for iX. As it stands today those are the only two I could see shopping for unless things change.
I did spec a few out on the Porsche website (rear wiper is option there as long as no noise and thermal insulating glass), it is a Porsche so pretty much everything is an option ). Pricing not too bad but would hope in a couple of years it would make for decent lease. Will have to wait and see.

It’s interesting, I’d like something a bit smaller than the iX for sure. However I think I’m done with putting in preorders for new EVs that will ship in a year if you’re lucky, and come with a top dollar early adopter fee.
Also kind of awkward timing with NACS landing everywhere next model year, not this year. |

If they do leases for the EV Macan like they did for the ICE version it won’t be pretty
When I bought my 2015 Macan S the lease was based on a residual of the base car and all “extras” had to be paid for in the lease so no ritual on them. Makes the lease very expensive |

I got to play in one at the factory when I was there having my GT3 RS delivered and it is a really nice vehicle. The longer wheelbase really helps improve interior space in the rear. I enjoyed my time in it and the dark green color is just sensational.

I like the iX styling, but like the Macan styling even more, and it should be liked by way more people than the controversial choices BMW made on the iX. In day to day driving there will be not much of a difference though … If It would have been a tad larger, it would be my ideal car, though from a luggage perspective they have the same volume available … |

We're adding the Macan Turbo to our garage, no plans to get rid of the iX M60.
