3 weeks old and scratched already!
Hi any help would be appreciated.
One of my children thought it would be a good idea to take a stone to the wifes car yesterday and scratch the wing and bumper. No big deal we thought, at least he hadn't touched the new BM. This morning I discover that he's had a go on the front of mine next to the radiator grille. Looks as though its just the clear coat thats damaged, imagine a 3 year old trying to write his name in the paint, thats pretty much it! About a 4 square inch area is affected. Has anyone any knowledge of any good products out there that can deal with this? Its not immediately noticeable, but its going to drive me mad if I don't deal with it. Cheers. |

So annoying, sorry to hear that.
What about wax ? It might work, or reduce the damage as possible. BTW guys, this post could be good advertisement to some condom company |

Condom gag..very funny, there might be something in that!
Tried clay/ tech wax and meguiars cleaner wax. Wont shift the scratches. I guess I will have to get a pro on it? |

What a shame. Sounds like a pro job .... Ask your dealer. Not worth using the insurance I'd guess...

After 1 week my car got some scratches from another car at a car park. Hit and run, no contact info.
I got the car fixed at a MPS (Micro Paint System) shop. I don't know if they are in Britain, but I am sure there are similar body shops. They specialise in small damages and do not necessarily paint the whole panel, but only locally in the damaged/scratched area. On my car they got a 100% perfect result. The price was 1/3 of a "normal" body shop. Hope you find a good solution

You can also buy a 'clear coat' touch up paint pen from most auto shops.
I have successfully used one of them to fill in a scratch in clear coat. Apply it, let it settle for a few hours then redo if nescessary, then wait at least 24 hrs before you polish it into the rest of the cars clear coat. |
