Yes it does. However, at least the way I have the folders in my USB stick, it does mess up the order of the songs. I have a problem with the iPod, it does not work since it needs the special BMW cable.

I ordered a Splitter from Amazon for £13, it arrived within 2 days and works perfectly. The I-Drive is a bit fiddly to start with but once you understand how it works it's a dawdle.

Personally I think the sound quality is better with a USB stick over an iPod with Y cable which basically is an analogue cable from the iPod.
Fanis, are your tracks playing in alphabetical order rather than album order? |

To give an example I have the tracks displayed like this: 04 Track X4 02 Track X2 07 Track X7 05 Track X5 etc. When I select track 05 Track X5 (which is the 4th in the display order), instead of playing this track it actually plays the track which is number 4 in the album, i.e. 04 Track X4.

Oh that is weird!
What I had been noticing is, if you: New Search -> All Artiists-> All Albums -> All Tracks You get the tracks form the album in alphabetical order But if you: New Search -> All Artiists-> All Albums -> Start Playback You get the album but with the tracks in the correct order One issue I have been having is some tracks when selected (or albums) i get a *cannot playback track* message - but if I go back a level in the GUI and reselect start playback the album plays just fine...very odd! |

I also have the same issue where once i am listening to a track through usb I am unable to select next track. I have flip between radio and external device and then it lets me change. Strange to say the least!! As for the Y cable, apparently this does not work in my vehicle although I have a usb and aux slot??!!?! Needed some other option? Bmw have never been able to explain this to me successfully sadly!! |

I have the orginal bmw y cable for this and own a 116D sport. I do not have either of the options 6NR or 6NF. Not really sure if this has anything to do with it.* No one at BMW seems to understand it?? :-/ |

Cliveywolves/aussman - after reading the blogs here I decided to try cheap alternative and this worked which is good, so just need to advise bmw of this and possibly get a new one.
Cant believe bmw told me the cables dont work for my vehicle unless I had one of the options. There must be some product training issues or something!! |
