As per the link. Has anyone got it and if so, what do you think?

I havent got it and dont need it. Basically its just a camera that records and displays the last 'seen' speed limit sign on your route. It probably does what it should but i dont see the benefit of it. I useally know well enough what speed I'm supposed to do. If I go harder its a well known personal choice so it wouldn't stop me getting any speed ticket..

My workaround is to bring a Tomtom navigation system, which usually knows the speed limit. |

I think it would be really useful. Sometimes you just miss speed limits. I need this on my next car..

My Wife's SLK has it and it's really useful in strange areas. But it only came on with the Nav screen. I was wondering if the BMW system showed all the time if you wanted it to.

Same here also. Lots of our 60 mph roads are changing to 50 mph overnight.

Especially this time of year and the council needs a cash injection before the end of the tax year.

I didn't have integrated navi in the cars I had before this one, so I used a Garmin GPS that showed the current speed limit. It wasn't always correct, but it was good enough to give me the habit of ignoring the speed limit signs. It's been almost a year, and I still regret not choosing this option for my car.

All this said, I have to admid that belgium is a very loose country in things like this. I won't go into the political details but basically you can do a lot of speeding here and hardly get caught.

I'm happy with it. The speed limit over here (.nl) randomly changes up and down every 100m or so, so it's difficult to keep paying attention.
I'd say it's right about 8/10 times, and not too far off when it gets it wrong. It mostly gets confused by signs on slip roads and offramps (ofcourse you need to have three different speed limits on a 300m offramp to a gas station... ), and it doesn't read the electronic "matrixbord" signs above the road unless they have a red circle around them. The no-overtaking detection is less accurate. In Germany it seemed to be spot on all the time.
