Variable Sport Steering not working after new rack

Have had the rack replaced in my F20 LCI 125i but I've noticed the Variable Sport Steering does not work anymore i.e. the weight between comfort and sport/sport+ has not changed. Is the fix a software one or mechanical?

Cheers

There are 3 steering types.

1) Standard - power assisted and linear ratio
2) Servotronic - variable power assist and linear ratio
3) Variable sport steering - Variable power assist and variable ratio.

Variable ratio means that the steering is more dull around center, and quicker when turning sharply at low speed.

It is possible that your issue could be coding related.

I see some people are not very impressed by the variable ratio...

Take a look at the sport settings in the idrive, chassis must be enabled (the other option is drivetrain, can be selected separately) to notice the stiffer steering

Both chassis and drive train are selected so that's not the problem. Will go back to the mechanic on Wednesday as they think it's probs software or as coding as well.
