ipod keeps charging with Y cable

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the forum but i've been lurking around for some time now.
I picked up my F20 last monday and I couldn't be more happier!

I've been using my iPod with the Y-cable and I noticed that my iPod keeps charging when my engine is not running.
I'm afraid my car battery will die at some point in time if i keep the ipod permanently on. I always forget to unplug the ipod when i get out of the car so...

Should I worry about this? Has anyone noticed this too?

Cheers!
Dieter

Charging the iPod battery doesn't have any measurable impact on the car battery. So don't worry if you forget pulling out the cable from time to time.
I would be more concerned about the iPod itself. It's a good habit not charging a battery permanently

Same problem here...

Even after locking the car the ipod stays on...

Just like the radio does.

As said above...after 10 mins, the car goes to sleep mode, so all electrical items are switched off.

Even if the power won't turn off, but once the iPod is fully charged, it will stop charging as well

I'm wondering if the average Apple dock-USB cable will work when the iPod is configured to work as a hard drive. The car will read it as an ordinary USB stick then, won't it?
