Remap stage 2 m135i 2016

Hi all,

I am doubting about getting a ecu remap stage 2 with the m135i.. With a catless downpipe of Wanger the hp will be around 420 and 600nm. Is this still safe enough for the BMW? Are there any other things i should worry about?

Thank you.

Regards,

Danny

Danny,

I have 405/630 power / torque from JB4 and hi flow DP so you should be able to get 420/600 from a remap.

If wanting to keep it "safe", I'd ask remapper not to go above about 16psi boost so as plastic stock intake charge pipe from intercooler to throttle body does not fail.

Thank you for your reply.

So it won't be a problem to run the BMW with 420hp and 600nm with only a modified downpipe? A better intercooler is on the list for next year.

Yes, I know about the chargepipe.. My previous m135i had a failure om the charge pipe, but the BMW had done almost 90k..

The remap will be done by BR Performance..

I had contact with the tuner. The max boost with stage 2 will be 16psi, so 1.1 bar.. Safe enough i guess?

A friend did a remap for his m135i got about 400hp, but he later removed it because the shifts were not smooth at all, he didn't like it. He did his remap at br performance too.
Please tell us if you like the remap or not

Ok. Only remap or catless and intercooler too? And problems shifting in the sport modus only or comfort too?

Please get a before and after dyno readout se we can see the actual gain. Any serious tuner should offer this.

The tuner isn't what i worry about. I worry more about if 410 a 420hp won't give any issues to the m135i.

I know there are guys running almost 450hp or even 500hp with the M135i, but i don't want anything to be broken after a couple of weeks..

Wish we had access to BR performance.

My BMW once got a blown engine and once got burnt (recently).

Superchips both times.

If UK based - talk to Evolve near Luton, BW Chiptune in Hayes or DMS in Southampton.

Maybe best to wait to see who will be UK BM3 approved as this is a game changer in the US

I will never use the bootmod3. People think they can do it by them self and will mess up the whole car.. You need a good tuner to do ecu tuning.

Btw, you can send your ecu to BR Performance!

Suggest you read up about BM3 as its like Cobb Accessport but way better and F series friendly once ECU has been de-encrypted.

BTW - I'm running JB4 c/w bolt-ons which works. Have a listen - map 6, BCS hi flow cat DP + Remus midpipe + MPE

Nice setup dude!

Why do you have chosen voor JB4 instead of ECU tuning?

Yes i can. Or could (the car is trashed due to fire).

But thought it would be inconvenient to send the ECU and send again if something goes wrong.

That was my mistake.

Well learnt.

Thanks.

No real ecu tune options at the time plus I had good past experience with jb4 type tuning on my n54 e91

Nope. The guys said "Well you drove it". They don't accept "well chip is made for driving" as an excuse.

I am not located in UK. That may be the case. Besides, nobody can "really" prove what caused the fire. I mean everybody would blame somebody else.

So finally the remap is done! Yesterday spent almost 9 hours by BR Performance NL. But the results are amazing! 408hp and 543nm with the Wanger catless downpipe. The boost, sound, and smoothness of the car is unbelievable.

I will get the dyno today, but they did a perfect job! In comfort the car is shifting smooth without any problems and in sport it's a whole different car. I had yesterday on the highway wheelspin with 160 km\u haha..

Here are some pictures and videos:

After the downpipe was installed:
