Is this noise normal?
Hi,
is it normal to hear some creaking noise when trying to park if you have the automatic transmission? As I release the breaks to slowly reverse into a parking space, there is a creaking sound as if the breaks were being applied just a bit. Hard to explain... but perhaps someone with more experience with automatic transmission cars knows what I´m talking about. |

It could be a number of things
Have a look at your discs to see if there is any scoring as you may have something behind a pad. It could be that you have build up of brake dust in a caliper that is keeping the pad in contact with the disc or the hand brake needs adjusting You can clean the caliper by using a high pressure washer to flush the dust out. Could be the Auto Hill Holder function. It applies the brakes for a few seconds, to help you start the car when you are in a road with an incline. It is is abit useless in the cars with Auto transimssion, but is still there. So, when you start the car, the brake are applied for a second, until you press the throttle. Try it in a flat surface to see if it is the same.
