Hi All,

I wanted to know will my F21 BMW 118i M-Sport instrument cluster panel display the words "BMW" or "M Performance" on startup?

P.S. I have order the Instrument Cluster Panel With Extended Contents.

I suspect BMW. The M135i displays "M135i" .. and BMW Connected Drive on the screen.

Pre July 2013 build M135i cars display M Performance, post July 2013 display M135i. This was a software update and could be retro installed if the other thread is to be believed.

So basically my BMW will display the words "BMW". But I can get it changed if I wanted?

Well to answer my own question since everyone has been replying like no tomorrow *Sarcasm*

I called my dealership to ask about this and...

BMW will not change the "BMW" to "M Performance" & they do not allow this change.

Without meaning to sound nasty, why would you want M-Performance or M135i to be displayed if the car isn't that model?

You've got a very valid question.
I wanted M-Performance to be displayed not M135i because I'm getting an M-Sport and I thought it would be a nice touch to have. (Unique)

But since I'm not doing it, I'm still going to love the car regardless.

Maybe BMW will bring an M Sport graphic in the future.

If you do the M-Performance power kit engine upgrade at a BMW dealer they will activate the code for showing that as a part of the installation process.

M Sport is a trim level, not an indication that the car is a Motorsport spec in terms of performance.

BMW refusing to do a recode suggests they still differentiate at least.

Yeah I know what an M-Sport is, I've dealt with many BMW's before.
It was just out of interest to know...

Not trying to ruffle feathers, I blame BMW for a naming convention that can confuse some people but that's marketing I suppose.

Just do the coding yourself, I did the same with my 118i msport.

Be sure to have the extended cluster, if you also have the NBT pro nav you can also set a nice m startup movie like I did.

Does anyone know how to set up M Performance logo on F20 black panel tacho 6WA (F20 125D LCI 2017)?
When I open Kombi2 module there is no BMW Logo option to change (this one I had on my previous F20).

chat to the guys at bimmercodeapp they can do it for you, they can even change your dongs (ie door open sounds) to the rolls Royce sound and even give you the bmw m startup screen when you start the car on the idrive
