1-series LCI spypics : new headlights w/ LEDs

Came across those pictures of the facelifted 1-series, showcasing new headlights with LEDs, showing that BMW is making a major makeover on the car front, with what it seems to be revised graphics and probably leds on the back aswell.

By looking at the corona rings pattern..they have some deph to it..like the 4/5/6 series compared to their xenons counterparts, pretty easy to tell em apart.

Halos ok but projector lenses look more like xenon rather than LED of F8x and latest X5/6

Gives quite an idea how the facelift is gonna look like. Not like 2 series for sure but a bit more pretty. It's a matter of taste how people feel about the current 1 series but i like it, especially in //M.

In regards to the rears it looks like its the same shape lights. Do you guys think its wise to purchase the m perf tail lights now or wait to see if the new update may fit on the current rear?

I'd wait and see what it looks like, it's just a couple of months ahead.

Yeah was thinking that as well. I will wait actually. I noticed bmw dont really like adding an extension to their tail lights on their smaller cars. Even the 2 series rear is a single piece and doesnt extend over to the boot section but the new active tourer looks nicer with it. MB did the same with their hatch. I think the rears would look better if they did extend them like a vw r or others out there. I guess they try to save on everything. The 1 is still an awesome car though

On another note I am not sure why they dont have a front spoiler to fit the current 1's from the 2 range. Their front spoilers are much better than the current m perf for the 1 series. how hard would it be for them to have something similar to this. I think it would have sold more than the current one on offer. Not sure why no one else tried to create these rather than just lip spoilers.

Maybe later, some tuners or companies will provide such induvidual front spoilers for the current 1 series which will look like the 2 series. These days you can find different types of spoilers for E87 1 series, some of them are looking like the coupe version or 1M etc, but people had to wait a long time for the products. For the current 1 series what BMW provides will be nothing else then the original //M and //M Performance front spoiler. I have no problem the way my car looks in //M, every time i approach to my car i'm more then happy. But what really excites me is the 2 series front conversion which i come across more'n more these days. But it costs too much and is a lot of work.

Your car looks unique and really good the way it is, but if you wanna make more of your car, don't expect much from BMW

Yeah I think so. Even the fronts if you look carefully its like they still have retained the top and the same edge on the grill side and basically drew a line 3/4 of the way down horizontally across - to make them narrower. If that makes sense! I think the hype of the lights on the 1 made the car more visible and out there and at the end of the day they werent really that bad

Looks like LEDs to me too..

The shape of the headlight seems to have changed too? I think it will look better from the outline I see.

Will it finally get LED turn signals, LED brake lights ++ like similiar competitors? MB A-/B-/C-class has LEDs all over, but BMWs competitors (1-, 2-, 3-, 4-series) does not have. Cīmon.. Its 2014, not 1994 anymore..

Scott a few months ago you said that due to such positive customer feedback the LCI will see a very minor tweak but this doesn't look minor...?

It was originally meant to be minor but some minimal changes were asked for.

But will you think the new outline of the headlights on the LCI will be as controversial if not more so than the current car?
