My 118 visited the dealer's for check-up more often than I visited my GP.

Got back my car after 3days with the dealers of fault finding and some sort of software upgrade.
The DRIVETRAIN error did not come back again until 4 days later.
So I will be bringing back the car again. Grrrr!

this problem often happens here in China, solution is to clean (or to replace) the solenoid valve in the turbo charger.

Our car has the regular steering, and no steering noises.
About the leaking oil valve, where is it located? I have noticed that the oil level is slowling sinking.

please check this link, it's leaking, the place is under the engine, it's not possible to see by your eyes unless car is raised, our solution is to take a photo
BMW China has given the solution to change the engine oil pressure valve, but it needs many days, and the front axle system will be totally disassembled。

I have the noisy fan in the cabin issue starting now, can hear it when it speeds up to cool/heat the car. Will wait till it gets worse before taking it in. Other issues are noisy rear suspension.
My old E90 only let me down once with failed ABS system. One thing in 7 years

what i heard the noise in the AC system is due to tree leaf falling in the pipe, not sure about it. check with the dealer

nickdpp, I've had problem 1, and yet to check Problem 2 & 3.
I'm not sure about the steering wheel noise. Not sure noise i should be hearing.
So far i-drive behaves itself

With regards to the Drivetrain Fault, It seemed to be intermittent. I've noticed that error comes up on cold days. Hmmm..
Sensitive little thing...

This leaking, is it evident on the ground where the car is parked? or the oil leak just stays around where the valve and not strong enough to have evident droplets on the ground?

there is a protection board under the engine, so normally you will not see any oil dropping on the ground, but you will see some oil on this board if the leaking is serious.
this problem had a long story on mini cooper S 1.6T petrol engine(same engine as 118 1.6T), first of all BMW said the rubber ring in the oil valve is not strong enough, but actually the issue is never solved until dealer changes the whole oil valve. please check with your dealer

local dealer told me, if you often drive in the traffic jam, or drive in low speed with low round per minute, you will very easily to catch this problem.

Seriously, where do you get these numbers from? I have had no problems whatsoever with my car in 6 months and 11000 km.
If you say the oil leak is only in petrol cars then how can you say 90% of F20's have this problem?!

I guess these are Shanghai numbers. There are no diesel passenger cars there.
