Agreed. A first date is usually hard to 100% gauge a person's personality at least in my experience. First dates are good for getting a general idea about attraction, and if the person is mentally insane or not.

The second and third date is usually where the personality comes out.

Honestly, if you were attracted to her otherwise, seems like a silly thing to cut someone off for. A lot of people complain about their jobs as a conversation that others can relate to. If the entire date consisted of that and nothing else, maybe she was nervous or really is just that boring.

Explain that you don't really see this going anywhere. Leave an uncomfortable silence for no longer than 60 seconds. Then break your own uncomfortable silence with "I must say I will miss the sex" gauge her reaction. Based on her reaction, body language and facial expression, you're next response needs to be: (if she isn't down) I sincerely wish you the best followed by a hug or (if she seems remotely interested) something to the affect of "how about it then", "wanna get out of here and go back to my place for a quick one" or "perhaps we should have one last go."

My advice here would be call her and tell her you don't wanna keep it up as its heading no where. She probably wont be amused that she took 2-3 hours getting ready for the date then you go there and tell her you're no longer interested. Save her the time and effort of getting all dolled up for rejection

Went out with some girl last weekend but didn't really feel inspired. She's well educated and well spoken BUT [as shallow as this sounds] I feel I could do better in the looks department. She's cute but I expect more.

Gotta let her down gently now, don't wanna be an even bigger douche by ghosting. Will prob be meeting with someone else this weekend.
