Bmw NBT, Android, Bluetooth, Spotify and Steering Control

Hi to everyone on the forum.

Please excuse me if this has been posted before but I have searched long and hard for a solution to my problem and just wanted to post my fix.

I have an android phone and wanted to use it via bluetooth with my non professional NBT unit. It worked fine but when i tried to change tracks with the steering controls all that it would list is the current track with no forwards or backwards and no track listing. Serveal people have complained to spotify and they say its a BMW problem. This is not true as the solution is quite simple.

FIX: Download Android Auto from the Google play store. Get the app to open automatically on connection to the bluetooth on your head unit and hey presto, full track listings on your speedo display and control from the steering.

Phone - Google Pixel 2XL Android 9 (Pie)

I Hope this helps someone
