failure with turbo

hello good morning, this piece was disconnected, the vehicle was slow but as there was a lot of traffic I did not notice it until in a space that accelerates and I did not feel the thrust of the turbo, then I said something strange has the car, when I reach my destination I checked it and it is when I realize that the connector of that piece is loose, I connect it again but the car continues as well as the turbo does not enter, it does not have a warning or smoke coming out of the vehicle, which I do not know that it could be someone can you tell if that disconnected cable affected the turbo?

this the part

That's the diverter valve, This part (the big plastic) should be tighten with screws and there is a cable which connects it to the ECU.
If I'm not wrong, it's controlled electronically by the ECU (it opens it to release pressure).

In case only the electrical plug was disconnected, The ECU should goes into reduced power mode disabling the turbo system.

Reconnect it and make sure the diverter bolts not loosen.

If you open up the valve with a screwdriver, there is a high chance that you will find the rubber valve torn.

I had this issue on my F20 N13. Dealership charged me $250 for a new unit.

If you want better performance and something more robust, go for the aftermarket diverter valve from GFB: http://www.gfb.com.au/tms-turbo-mana...lve-T9356-8490
