Intermittent car won't start
Intermittently my car won't start even when the key is held by the steering column. When you push the start button with the clutch down it says pre-heating but then doesn't start. The only way I can get it to start is to get out, lock and unlock then try again. Sometimes I can do this two or three times before it starts and both keys do it. Anyone else had this?

As it's both fobs it's unlikely to be a weak battery so best get it looked at by the dealer, intermittent faults are a bugger to nail down. If you are lucky the failed start attempts will be logged by the car, good luck.

I had to call assist out as my car wouldn't start after trying 5 times. No relevant faults found. He said to go to the back of the car so the key goes out of range and try again. I did explain the key is being detected as it says pre-heating then it doesn't start. I will try film it next time.

Had to call BMW again, a woman diagnosed the problem in seconds! It's the clutch pedal it needs to be pushed to the floor then more. Removing the mat seems to have solved it so must need adjusting.
