M135i Exhaust Flap At Startup
I have a 2013 M135i.
I must be the only person on the planet that wants my exhaust valve closed during startup. Everything I see when I google it is everyone wants theirs open. Is there a way, Bimmercode?, to have the exhaust flap closed when the engine cold starts? Thanks, Richard |

Your exhaust valve is closed during a cold start, and this is not what makes the sound volume higher (no back pressure either)
It is an increase in speed and air injection so that your catalyst heats up faster that occurs, according to anti-pollution standards. So the only way to avoid the "BMW cold start" is to encode the DME. |

This is not normal and your DME may present a problem, because it is only from a certain temperature of the catalyst that the cold start order is sent.
