Correct. It is gonna be expensive when the engine needs to be dropped!

I guess it is more a more "if" than "when". The timing chain is supposed to last the life time of the car.

Over the last 3221km...8.6km/l and that is 90% city/urban driving + if I have pole position at a stop light I always (almost) check if the horses are still there
As people say - its almost witchcraft!

If you counted like that I'm at the same consumption 11,5 l / 100km is about 8,6 à 8,7 km/l.
So it seems to be normal but I still have only 1.050 km on the counter at this moment and not letting all the horses out the stable .

Wondering if anyone can help me having a bit of a problem linking everything together,
I have a pwg m135i , I have brought another crash damaged car with a ewg engine in I have swapped the complete engine ecu and loom if I use the ewg body control module the engine will run fine but no other modules are working ie steering lights radio, but if I use the original cars bcm all the other modules work but the engine won’t start and has an immobiliser fault
Anyone got any ideas we have attempted to do an immobiliser delete on the ewg ecu but it didn’t help
Thanks in advance

After swapping the steering rack they had to re-program the whole car. This should be your case, I believe.

No, you don't need to swap more than you like. I mean it takes re-programming the whole car (many hours, by the way!) to introduce a new rack (it's control unit effectively) to the rest of the car for them to work together since. This should be the case with all the control units you swap, I guess. Install what you like and have the proper/corresponding software installation to enable your assembly. Consult an official BMW service, perhaps.

So basically all I will need to get coded in is the new ecu as everything else is the same
