I certainly am not a BMW officinado by any measure of imagination, but, wouldn't it be going against the grain if you put an 8 or 10-cylinder engine in the car that's meant to be paying homage to the original 3.0 CSL which was a 6-cylinder car?

Afterall, that's one reason this car is only coming in manual transmission.
No, BMW did a special E46 M3 CSL with the V8 from the E39 M5. There's a video of it on YouTube. Unfortunately they never sold it but it still exists.

Fair enough. I should have been clearer and distinguish that I meant those that made it to market, not prototyped specimen.

It doesn't look like the final version will have the two wings from fender to hood - that omission is something that turned something special to just another M4.

BMW really should've just built the concept as is - the production model is too far from the concept and too close to an actual M4.

The front reminds me of that bat with the wrinkly nose.

I guess there are 50 people out there that hate the G8x enough to fork over $600k for a better front end.

$600k? Is that American dollars or Chinese Yuan?

560hp + 6MT in a G82 is already pretty special. Basically, BMW’s “Sport Classic”. They should make more of them so they can sell it for $150-200k.

$600k USD base fee, subscription still needs to be paid each time you want to push start, and another 10k to open the fuel tank to fill up each time

I know this sounds cliche but Can't believe you need a special edition to just have a normal looking Bmw grille

looks very well balanced, very well handling car.
unlike the M3 Touring which looked to be struggling to rotate in the corners

Why are there periods of time during which the engine is so quiet? Is this a PHEV?

The first M PHEV would certainly command a very large premium.

My mistake. It's actually $800k USD so 5.4 million Yuan.

If the G80 grille was the bold and aggressive look of the future then why change it for this? The G80 grille should have never been and I wouldn't be surprised to see it gradually morph to something closer to the 3.0 CSL. Let's hope the final version is closer to some of the renders.

Considering half of BMW's line-up is some variation of the large grilles, they've made their position loud and clear.

Looks more like a front wheel drive Ford than a BMW in some angles.
Where is that Hofmeister kink?

Large is fine. 7 sided, disproportionate, and unintegrated with the rest of the car is obviously a mistake they're trying to avoid here.
