Very comfortable??? Have you ever been in one

It is the most difficult car to get in and out of outside of an old Lamborghini. Im thin but getting in and out was just ridiculous, I’d have to twist and literally throw myself out of the car when leaving, completely impractical design for a daily and not special enough to just leave for a few times a year.

While it was a cool looking car 10 years ago, it’s very dated now

Put me in the NO camp. It tries but already looked date even at its launch, never mind now. I get it's a hybrid marque, but the numbers are still underwhelming despite BMW supposedly not gunning for earth-shattering benchmarks. It just looks awkward w too many lines and things happening, and the odd 3+ color-schemes don't help either.

Yes, incredible looking car. It's literally the benchmark for modern supercar design IE McLaren, NSX, etc.

Let me guess though, some of you wouldn't be caught dead in one of those

That's not really the pt for ppl who don't like the car though. If somebody gifted me this or some Veyron, etc, I'd just sell it.

I love the looks, futuristic, modern, and above all else just cool, and it doesn't need ugly huge grills to do any of those things, while still retaining proper BMW cues like the Hofmeister Kink. The flying buttresses at the back of the car are probably my favorite design aspect. Sadly the drive and powertrain does not live up to the looks though. This car should have been a proper Sports/Super Car. They can electrify it but it should've had an Inline-6, not a 3-Pot on skinny eco tires and a fake speaker exhaust.

+1 I don't see any benchmark either. Nothing looks like an i8......let's keep it that way

I thought it looked cool years ago and needed a beater commuter so i got one back in 2016. Accel was weak but braking and handling were atrocious. BMW should have been ashamed for doing that.

Its a beautfiul ride

Bmw is probably mentally deranged to not soup this car up from the factory and put a proper ice engine mid rear

This car with f82 side mirrors and the adaptive leds lights looks insane, add a wing on the back and you have one crazy car

The question here is for how many miles does that?
M3 will say goodbye soon after that battery gets weak and tired…

Yeah, cute car from outside so I vote that is good lookimg as that was the question.
But…
Terrible inside in every aspect (including ergonomics and kart rear seats.
And getting inside is a challenge, but getting outside is a humiliating process…
Maybe the idea was to polish that carbonfiber with your pants everytime…?

I tried the car once and after that I have realized that I will never own one. Very unpractical.

The i8 is a plug-in hybrid, not a fully electric car. It's got a 320mi range and the car charges the battery while in sport mode. You just leave it in sport mode and fill up the gas tank if you want to keep going.

Not sure why, but for me something about the design hasn't aged well even though it's only been a couple of years.

The i8 looks great and looks like a supercar. Its specs show its far from being a supercar.
