I totally agree
The front looks good, but the back lower section looks odd and cheap
It is a backward step (pardon the pun) from the previous look
It looks stuck on rather than inserted into the rear panel.

Looks like they've removed the headlight washers just like Mercedes have done when you have LED-headlights. They are not required by law anymore since that law only goes for vehicles with Xenon-headlights. I think it's a shame.

Headlight washers are now an option, so if you want them they can still be added.

i like the m235i front better but overall i like the car and really wish the US would import the 5door.

I really like the duct taped on license plates. its the new "no holes plate mount"

When I look at the back it makes me think VW Golf...

Front headlights are a big improvement.

The lines on the back are going every which way. It's a bit too angular without enough focus.

But the front is definitely an improvement.

They should have left the rear light size alone. Less is more.

The car is to small for those tail lights.

looks way better than the 2-series...that's for sure.

i wish they brought these to the US market. I'm sure plenty of us would line up for a BMW hatchback as a family car. The 3-series is a bloated fat mess these days.

It's a huge improvement and arguably one of the best mid-cycle refreshes we've seen in recent memory, bested only by the E90 LCI.

I think BMW shouldn't be making hatches period. Just looks so awkward and when I look at it reminds me of a Golf lol...not a fan of the 1er hatches

I can't warm up with to the hatch 1er either...I owned a 135 coupe for a while...amazing machine!

I seem to be in the minority who likes the rear, don't find it any worse than the previous back end. The front is such a improvement though!

I do too ... Makes a nice little commuter

The duct tape ... Only in Europe ... Here in US they still have to dig holes

But it used to look even more like a Polo from behind before the LCI.
If it was up to me, BMW would ONLY be making hatches, as the rest of the BMW range are all too large!

(And this is the F20/F21 forum)
