Lights on the B pillars
white or blue variable interior lighting with additional lights on the B pillars
Does this exist in all urban f20? Do we have any photo? |

Strike that, the brochure says "white or blue variable interior lighting - controlled via BMW professional radio or the iDrive controller (with additional lighting on the B pillar)" is a standard feature of the Urban model

Interior lamps in different colours in the footwell, centre console, roof liner and B-pillar create changing mood lighting. The ambient light for the interior offers the option of switching between the colours of blue and orange. In keeping with lifestyle dedicated to starting each new day afresh.
That's what the website says about the urban but doesn't say if standard ! I'm sure someone on here owns an urban line haha Speak up !!! Does the sport line have this ??? |

I find this variable ambient light concept fun and cool. Cool light comes out front the ceiling and Inside door handles. However, I drive in HK where there is always bright light outdoor(unless going to the suburb), I just don't see the effect of the ambient lights even I turn it up to MAX.

I guess they know the demographic, a guy like me in his 20s (well for another 5 weeks anyway! ) is only going to be tempted by the sport. I've seen one urban in real life and that was on the forecourt when i went in to sign the finance papers. I think if you're ordering urban be careful with the colour choice. Blue and White look good but not sure how those white alloys would go with other colours.

No Urban Line here. I have ordered an Urban Line grill because it matches very well with the exteriour colour. But all the rest of the Urban gadgets are missing. So no ambient lights either .

Sport line comes with white/orange ambient light and Urban line with blue/orange. That is on the roof, B pillars, footrest driver/passenger. On the Urban line when you unlock the car the whole interior is illuminated blue color (really cool!) until you open the door where changes to white. When inside, you have the blue led ambient lights. I don't know for the sport line.

M-sport does include variable ambient ligthing.
I havent found out the colours, but probably like Sport Line (orange-white), not like Urban Line (blue-white). Orange is a better match for the orange instrument lighting. I think it's cool

Urban line has Blue - Orange. below is also from 1 series press release excerpt:
The BMW Urban Line includes specific cloth/leather seats, a leather sports steering wheel, adjustable armrests, and contemporary acrylic glass interior trim, which creates a strong sense of depth and is available in white or black with matt oxide silver accent strips. A striking effect is also provided by the ambient and courtesy lights, which can be switched between orange and LED royal blue. An additional light source on the B-pillar enhances the effect of the illumination. I havent found the M sport press release document pdf. Anyone? |

Today I ordered the M Performance twin exhaust pipe since the standard one looks a bit lame. Car porn
