I woke up today

Late afternoon I moved quickly from my crouched position to hurry off and get a tool I needed. Only to be knock back to my knees by the branch of the avocado tree. Seems the tree was channeling Picasso because I have a big smile, turned on edge, on the top of my pelon

Wifey had a test like that once. Something like 200% above the top number of the scale. Was either a lab error or they caught her on a really bad day.

…helped an elderly person who had gone missing from their care home. Looked lost and had wondered a few blocks away. Walking in slippers. Said to me: "Have you seen my son? I can't find him." Kept them company and called 911. Hope I never lose my mind like that.

Here's me saying it was a good day for me but the lady officer was the real hero. It's like she had done it before and was real caring.

Just bloody handprints across the lawn as I crawled. I'd take a few crawling steps, reach up to my head and it would come away bloody, then a few more crawls.

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to try and judge if your own pupils are responsive, looking into a mirror? At least they weren't totally blown, and doesn't seem to need stiches.

*I* want to hack that dang branch off, back to the trunk. Wife says I should just be more careful

See, I think that was just nature's way of telling you someone of your advanced age shouldn't be moving that quickly.

Since El Palacio del Sol is situated right next to said tree: it was telling me I shouldn't be working at all, I should be lounging in my throne, reading a book, sipping a cool drink, and shooting flies off my legs with my bug-a-salt gun.

Now that you hit your head on it you'll probably never do it again.

I wish that were true I wore a hat all day yesterday, with it sitting as high off my head as possible, as a tree early-warning device. Well, at least it protected me from actually scratching from limbs, if not impact.

And it's not like I'm overly tall at 5' 9 3/4"

The reason I say that is because I doubt if I would hit it again. Seems like once would be enough. I would think I would be aware of it after that. But that's just me.

Maybe tie a string with a tennis ball, like in the garage.

Today was a good day because this mornings storm didn't bring any hail at my work, but just south of here saw some pretty nasty hail

...because my echo results showed that my ticker is up from 30% to 35% functionality, and has shrunk in size (a good thing!) over the past 6 years!

I celebrated the good news by nearly killing myself pulling out of the doctor's office driveway, when the brake pedal on The Mighty Dodge sank straight to the floor and I rolled through the stop sign and into multiple lanes of traffic.....

Good to hear your heart health is better.

Also good to hear the brake failure didn't result in an accident.

That CHP officer who was FLYING down 101, full code, was moving perpendicular to my direction of travel.

I saw an exit down the road, he was making someone's day . . .

I started attending luncheons for all who graduated from our local high school 50 or more years ago and I've really enjoyed it.

The luncheons are held every 90 days and I'd guess attendance averages 150 folks or. What really, really surprised me is when we got in line for chow, I was taller than nearly everyone there and I'm only 5' 10". It wasn't like that during high school - I was the runt.

So I guess it's true - we tend to shrink during our golden years.
