Well as I said I have no doubts about wether they can be fitted or not. And I am quite sure if you already have LED-ones it'll be just plug&play. All I need is to see "normal" pictures, to get a german price for parts only, and to get my car in the first place

Lets bring this one back up.
- Recently I got a rough estimate/quote from a dealer, telling me might be able to do 220€ for the set of blacklines (high), but with an unknown delivery date. - Seems they're only available with led and upgrading from halogen is just a coding-thing, offered by BMW too. - I now also found 2 sets on ebay germany sold by a bmw dealership for 249€, free shipping within germany, but only shipping to germany too as it seems (although one could probably mail and ask). Link: http://www.ebay.de/itm/271020530679 I'm not yet conviced I want them now, I initially asked for a quote when I ordered the car in white.. . But I kinda like the glossy-dark-red they seem to have. Seems they left a bit more red in them compared to the E87-blacklines, but that might just be an illusion.

The unknown lead time made me cancel the order with my dealer.
It looks to me that they are overall darker and specific the turn signal part. Anyway, like the factory LED lights also, so I am not going to purchase the blacklines.

Since I ordered a crimson red F21 I'm really curious how these black taillights will look on a red car.
I've seen a couple of red F20's and the contrast between the body and the taillights isn't that big. Let's wait for some pics on the Internet |

I would have dropped it. Crimson red and red taillights is the best combo

i wonder how much the reprogramming to enable LEDs (for those with halogens) costs, on top of the price for the clusters. I'm surprised they even offer to do it after ordering.

Excuse my ignorance......... am I correct in thinking that the tail lights on a new F20 125i M Sport are not LED type even with the visibility package specified?

I am not sure if the 1er has 'lamp recognition' in its electrical equipment computer.
You can now buy 12v Amber multi LED indicator bulbs (Halo) so the ilumination from your indicator lense is full. Also, you can upgrade standard tail lights with Stop (halo) LEDs as well. If your 1er has lamp wattage recognition, You will have to buy 'resistor' type LED lamps so that they are compatible with the original bulb's wattage, otherwise the car's computer will see it as a fault and a waning will appear on your instrument screen. Look for high quality LEDs. Some of the Chinese made are crap. I would not buy them on-line unless you are sure of the brand, base connection, quality and illumination. I suggest you go to a specialist Auto parts supplier so you can see them before you buy and can take them back if there is a problem. My 125i M Sport (coming soon) has visibility pack (Xenons), however if it only has bulbs for the indicators I will replace them with LEDs lamps. |

Its bayonet, I changed the yellow indicator bulbs for chrome silver ones last week. The front lamps look much better. I also tried the led DRLs, but had an error message, so I changed the yellow DRLs for white ones. They work ok.
