Well I've had my m135i x-drive for around 2/3months and have covered 4800km till now. I was wondering do different countries come with different tyres for the m135i? I live in lebanon and well the car came with Bridgestone potenza tyre. So basically does the sdrive have different tyres than the xdrive? Cause when there is a bit of water on the ground the car takes time to adjust it really doesn't stick well. Thanks guys and a few pictures for fun haha

As far as I know, M135i or all new generation M cars and also MPerformance cars come with Michelin Pilot Super Sport since some time now as at least alternative tires if not the only factory fit. So, you did get the lesser tire for that car in my opinion, probably due to a market decision, there were owners of M135i in these forums complaining about the same thing from South Africa for instance.

Just to highligt the difference that a tire can make, I did not even stick with the Michelin Pilot Sport (PS2) which are excellent on dry tarmac which came standard with my 1M, took them out and locked them as my reserve set after only 500 km. of use. I am on PSS since then and couldn't be happier about their performance. They are arguably the best single mod you can do to increase the performance of your car as well as make it more comfortable and safe for street driving. You can find better tires for track duty but you are not going to find anything better as a do-it-all kind of tire and you will not match the stats of your car easily with those Bridgestones (are they run-flat too?) since all those tests were done with PSS equipped cars.

Did you order runflats? If so, they fit bridgestone. If not, market dependent.

I have run flats that are good years.

I believe all M135s come with the michelin PSS but if run flats are specced they vary from car to car.

Look on your side walls of your tires. If you see a circle with "RSC" written inside then it's a run-flat tire.

^ I don't know who told you that "RSC" means run-flat
On run-flat tires you'll usually see "RUN FLAT" written on the sidewall.

Honestly, Check in any BMW handbook or google it. Runflat tires are usually marked with "RSC" on the side walls.
It also depends on the brand of tires...

PSS. In my location we usually don't like having run flats on M135i.

Just fyi PSS is good in the dry but drops off a bit in the wet.

Compared to what? There are not many tires on the market that have better wet traction than PSS.

+1. Never heard anything like that before. My 1M with PSS handles and grips better in the wet than it did with PS2 on dry. The grip in wet with PSS is beyond what we have a right to expect from a performance summer tire.

I feel the PSS tire aqua plane more than I expected on highway, that is all. I am going the speed limit and am comparing to my previous car, which is a sedan. I understand PSS is supremely good tire, but are there reasons why they seem to aquaplane more than I anticipated?

Thanks

+2, I had PSS on my M3, wet weather grip is brilliant, cornering speed when the roads were well soaked was way above any other tyre I'd used. Get some PSS on your car
