I haven't worn my Speedmaster in a while and now it's not keeping correct time. It's slowing down quite dramatically. I'm losing 2 minutes every 8 hours. Is there anything I can do or should this be sent out to a watch repairer to be clean and lubricated?

Yes definitely, if you’re losing that much time in such a short period of time you could be possibly doing damage to expensive internals by not addressing it and still running it. Like driving a car with very low oil, nothing good comes from it.
Send to Omega or highly competent Indy for service ASAP.

Put the Spectre on its steel bracelet... will probably switch back to NATO soon (I honestly love how the bracelet looks and feels, but the NATO is classic and really makes the watch stand out, while the steel understates the piece)

Very nice!
I have this same one with the dash of orange (golf model) and a blue 8500. With a handful of straps, the combo is beyond versatile. Such a great do-it-all design! ![]() ![]() Last edited by wyatth; 01-07-2020 at 02:21 AM.. |

Yesterday I ordered the ref. 311.30.40.30.01.001 which was released last tuesday. ETA april 2020 they said....
I'm turning 50 in may. Nice birthday present for myself. https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/w...31130403001001 ![]() I already had two Speedmasters (a Moonwatch hesalite and a reduced years ago) before and a handful of other Omegas (mosly PO's), but I've been craving for the 321/Lemania 2310 movement for about 5 years now. But prices of those vintage Pre Moon 321 Speedies are semi skyrocketing. And this is the best I can get as a daily and with the 321 calibre. Cheers Robin |

Was it easy to order, or did you need to have a close relationship with an AD before hand? Any words of a waitlist?

![]() Waitlist is showing on the off. Omega page, dunno if that's only marketing (just like Rolex), but I guess there will be a queu initially. Yes I have a very close relationship with this AD. I'm in the watchtrade and jewelry business myself.(my old man turning 74 next month, is a watchmaker by profession) Cheers Robin |

Omega definitely has some unique and pricey pieces, and definitely competes with the "best of them".
However, unlike Rolex, for example, many of the universally released models can be picked up at discounts on the used market, even certified and with original papers. Probably due to sheer availability (and some would say due to the vast amount of models/variations Omega produces of the same watch) There are, however, many coveted limited edition, precious metal, and vintage pieces that are as recognizable and robust as any competitor which retain value well or have appreciated in value. I'd put the Speedmaster 321 and World Timer in that category, and even lump in my Seamaster "Spectre" to a degree. The Spectre appreciated in value after all 7007 pieces were sold quickly and has maintained that value since 2015, even with the release of other limited edition Seamaster pieces (and even other Bond models)

I've suddenly become interested in the newer sapphire sandwich: 311.30.42.30.01.006
https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/w...31130423001006 Seems to be the latest model available with all the features I want (42mm, manual wind, sapphire, etc.) ... anything I'm missing here in terms of other models I might be overlooking? I tend to shop with a bang-for-the-buck mindset and am patient enough to wait for the proper mint used example to appear, so if ya'll happen to come across any from reputable sellers please post 'em up! ![]()

The gentleman I bought it from took a pic of it at the joker stairs when he picked up the watch from the ad. Stickers are still on the watch. To me it’s still new. I guess everyone has their own opinions on what’s new. I’m sure most watches at your local ad have been tried on unless it’s been ordered exclusively for you.

"Work from Home" doesn't have to be all bad with a colorful watch by the pool!
