Hi all,

First time poster from Perth. Have recently started toying the idea with of getting a M135i. Went and had a chat to a dealer a couple of months back just to get an idea of things as am not in any rush due to still being quite happy with my current car. Had a call from him the other day to inform me of the price cut and extra standard equipment which got me searching the net and led me here!

Think I'll have to head back to the dealer and get some new numbers post price adjustment. If only there were cars to test drive here in Perth! I have no doubt it is an amazing car, but it would be nice to have a drive before buying. Might take a 125 for a drive to get a basic idea first.

Anyway nice site you've got here and I hope to get involved!

I'm from Perth, my M135i gets built this month. Best thing we can drive is a 135i coupe...they had a demo at Auto Classic which I drove.

From what I was told they have a M135i on the way for the dealership....if its sold in transit then it won't be a demo but if not it may be...

Congrats on the purchase, must be exciting!

Auto Classic told me they have coming in the next week or two that has already been sold but that I could see in the metal, whilst West Coast BMW said there's one due end of this month that hasn't been sold yet so they'll let me know.

Wondering if anybody on here can help me.

Looking at getting a M135i; with the new July onwards build, does anybody know if you can still have individual options as opposed to the new packages? I wanted comfort access (previously a $850 option) but now am being told that it can only be had as part of the $2100 comfort package that has the addition of electric/heated seats.

Is this what others have experienced?

Cheers

I wanted a rear camera without everything I was given a firm "no" answer. so the packages are great value but on the flip side you do need to get the package...

not the worst thing though, you'll really appreciate the head seats and the memory function (if you have a partner)

Thanks for the clarification

True, I guess it's more the principle of only really wanting the comfort access but having to pay an extra $1500 to get it. But as you say the new packages are better value so can't complain.

I'm trying to decide whether the M adaptive driveline is a worthwhile option; I went for a test drive today on a M135i without it, the dealer told me that the comfort mode would be softer and the Sport mode would be the same as those without the M adaptive driveline. If that's the case not sure if it's worth it, will try to find a model that has it I guess.

Thanks guys,
Think ill get the M adaptive drive and probably cut out the comfort package given i only wanted the comfort access. Guess depends on what discounts they offer.

Here's hoping to join the club soon!

imho it all comes down to what kinda of driver you are and how you drive... i didn't get the M adaptive coz i want to fit coilovers later as the car has too much roll to my liking... test drive both and you can decide yourself my2c

Yeah the amount of roll was the one thing that was quite noticeable compared to my current Megane RS250. But everything else was very impressive, especially the engine/gearbox combo. Very addictive!

my Question to you would be do you need the 6 cylinder?

the 125i moves quick and with the money saving you can deck it out and chip it later...

I test drove a car with non adaptive M Sport suspension, and found it very comfortable. Since I saw no point in having softer suspension than that, I decided against adaptive suspension on our car. I prefer the steering and suspension to behave in a consistent way. That enables me to use my track driving experience if I need to avoid an accident on the road, cruising along in Comfort Mode.

I had coilovers on our previous car, and only adjusted them once, during installation. Consistency is important.

Hey gumpy, I would definitely want the M135. I still get a lot of enjoyment from my RS250 and there would have to be a step up in performance to upgrade. Whilst my current car looks great, has less body roll and is great fun when pushing it, the m135 has a better engine/gearbox, is a fair bit quicker, is more accessible to have fun without having to go flat out and has a more luxurious interior etc. Plus with kids planned for the nearish future would be nice to have 4 doors. I even think the m135 looks good exterior wise!

I agree with this comment, the variable steering concerns me... =(

The variable steering is standard on the M135i. As others have said, it's a tad numb in Comfort, but pretty sharp in Sport

To those who've ordered an m135i in Perth, with July build date. Any idea as to how long it would take bmw to build the car, and then how long it'll take to ship?

I know the dealer expects September (worst case late September) arrival, but just wondering how realistic that expectation is??

Cheers.

Does anybody who has ordered one of the updated July onwards spec builds (standard auto, pro nav etc) mind posting the approx discounts they've been able to negotiate? I'm in the early stages of negotiation and would be interested to know at how much people have been able to get off with the new pricing and spec. I know ultimately a good price is the one that you're happy to pay, but nice to have a ballpark of what % I should be aiming for.

Cheers
