Radar detector

Guys

Just leased a new m5. Don't really want to drop $500+ on custom hidden install of a radar detector. The cords on the valentine one are driving me nuts on the m5 vs my old suv which had a much taller windshield. Are cordless detectors really that inferior to the Vone??? I need a good detector more now than ever given performance of m5 vs my old x5! Let me know as I'm driving from Arizona to San Fran on Dec 31st and need protection!!

IMHO, no, not at all. Hardwiring a windshield detector isn't too time consuming and totally worth it. I do it in every car I own. Grab a hardwire kit for your V1 and get to it.

Hardware. Cordless are worthless. Takes me 10 min. Should take someone who doesn't know how to do it with basic instructions 30 min or less. I only use a cord if I'm renting a car.

Get a savvy for easy install. Mount V1 by mirror, hide cord across upper windshield, down pillar to obd port. Done.

I'd just wire it to the wires by the mirror. No reason go run wires all over the car.

I've done this with both Z cars and even a removal off the first one. Pretty simple when you get down to it. Seems like this man already has the drop on it as well for the F Chassis.

In the world of automotive installs, this was rather simple (worked audio/video a long time ago).
