The 2011 Frankfurt IAA auto show is underway and we bring you the first of our coverage, starting with the BMW Performance F20 1 series.

As we've posted earlier, this is a showcase vehicle used to introduce the new line of BMW Accessories for the 2012 F20 1 series, which include BMW Performance front bumper with spoiler lip, performance rear bumper, sideskirts, black grilles, carbon fiber mirror covers, performance stripes, 19" Performance wheels, and BMW Performance brakes (4 pot front, 2 pot rear).

The interior features BMW performance steering wheel (alcantara/carbon fiber), alcantara dash trim, performance pedals, performance floor mats, performance shift knob, performance shift boot, and carbon fiber door handles. All the carbon fiber in the car is real carbon fiber. The car also had an Alpine audio system.

As for performance upgrades, the 20d and 25i (with N20 motor) will get upgrades in the future.

Believe it or not, the F20 1 series really is better looking in the flesh, especially with aggressive trim

Also notice the lack of iDrive/Nav, but the cradle for the iPhone to be used instead. Not a fan of alcantera on high touch areas such as steering wheels or shifters.

I know a lot of people will disagree with me.
I think F30 is fugly, and I still think so. Every time when I see those huge headlights, I just cant stand it. However, this one with the performance kit is so freakin sexy. It looks way better than the normal F20 and it looks so fun to drive! It looks like... a BMW! I might consider it... I know I am crazy...

I like the bumper & interior. But that's about it.

So HATE the down syndrome look of the headlights.

The carbon looks kinda cool, abit to much for my taste i guess.
The important thing though, the F20 grows on us, by the look at these comments, and that is kinda reasuring imo.
Need to look at one in RL soon...

oh wow, massive wheels and spoilers on a 118i or whatever. this is lame.

This car looks like VW polo from the back, and just is just ugly from the front. At 3/4 view front looks Ok though. Still, what a failure of design (again). I don't understand these peopel, why do they make cars these days so ugly when they don't have to. The front and rear lights are like most important pieces design wise, and these suck.

I'm sorry. Noone likes the Pizza lights.

Jason, to be clear - are they showing a new 125i in Frankfurt? Or are you merely referring to an unannounced, upcoming model? As far as I know, they hadn't announced a 120i, 123i, 125i, nor 128i yet (i.e. no N20 models yet).

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Thanks for the clarification question.

There's no 125i at Frankfurt. Referring to a future model.
