There's a few good ones, many mentioned here but my personal least fave was the Gen 2 to Gen 3 Regal "upgdate"

Granted the Gen2 Regal wasn't pretty but it had some stance and the GN/GNX trim was boss AF. I don't know what the Gen 3 was supposed to be. An automotive appliance obviously but when my grandfather replaced his T type with one a part of me died a little.

Mitsubishi in its self could be a whole thread. Such a sad evolution of a brand.

The 2021 Mercedes S Class. The new design is not controversial at all, just extremely conservative and boring. Zero emotion.

It looks like a proper S-class to me, but I agree that overall there is not much visual change compared to prior S-class redesigns. The W116 to W126 was probably the last redesign that looked so similar.

Yes, it is a proper S class and probably still a great car. Just zero avant-garde in this redesign, extremely conservative and calculative. Like a proper German politician . Will probably sell OK.

I prefer the old sharper bolder MB aesthetic. These new ones look like deformed eggs.

I kind of liked the pre-facelift W212 E63. I thought it looked very charismatic.

+1 for the TL redesign... I used to own this good looking TL with one of the best interior at that time. The redesign was horrible

Agree, not only is the car an expensive disappointment, they missed their chance to take advantage of their historic nameplate in such a way that Ford has with their Bronco which will be a huge success.

Old NSX to New NSX.
U-G-L-Y and overly complicated for the sake of being complicated (plus horrific price/sales and value retention).
Honda messed this up pretty badly.

I remember when the first NSX came out. People thought it was overpriced back then too. It wasn't as well regarded as it is now, with time, perspective, and nostalgia on it's side however, adjusted for inflation, the NA1 was $115k in 1991. It's still cheaper than today's NSX, which doesn't have nearly as much charisma as its predecessor. A friend of mine has the new NSX. It didn't last more than a few months in his garage before he replaced it with a 458.

I do wonder if Honda would have been better off taking on the Carrera rather than the supercars. Let's say 120K, naturally aspirated, beautifully balanced etc.

Not sure how I forgot about this one as it is one of my all time top disappointing redesigns.

The Aston Martin Vantage went from beautiful to an open gaping mouth mess of a design.

Agreed - very disappointed with how that turned out. For something with an Aston badge, I expect a level of exclusivity. When it was released my first thought was it was an expensive way to combine a Miata RF and Supra.
