Hi as some of you know or have been contacted there has been a recall on those cars with climate control.
Took mine in for repair as a/c and climate control failed completely
Apparently if you get it in early enough a reprogram is all that is needed.
Unfortunately in my situation it had already killed the IHK so it needed replacing

Hi aussman.

I've seen a few of your posts re the blinking air-con light problem. I know it was a while ago now, but I'm trying to find out more info as I too have the same (?) issue! I have a 2012 F20 118i.

The symptoms are:
- switch air-con on, light flashes for a while
- light goes off
- after a while, the light starts flashing again and then remains solid

After this, it seems to work fine.

Other observations are:
- if you turn it on while idling, it will start a lot quicker
- if you're at highway speed, it will sometimes not come on at all

I've had the error codes read and the only one that appears related is:
8011B9 Potentiometer for stratification control: Short circuit to B+ or line disconnection

Can you please provide more info on the recall that you mention?
