Thanks. I'm not single anyhow - met my partner on tinder But yeah, things were never as simple for me as they seem for most. No doubt mainly my fault, but I'm not bitter - it's just how it is!

Same here, I've always had to learn the things I know by making every mistake in the book and learning the hard way.

Not necessarily a date, but I'd been chatting up this girl for a few days. Going well. I eventually asked "what made her wifey material". It was on her profile, so you'd figure someone would defend a statement they themselves made. Checked back the next day and our conversation disappeared

Did you ever meet her in person? More importantly, what's up the the E60 M5 manual situation?

I did not.
If I meet any girl/woman in person where the context is that of a date, it's a wrap. Getting there has always, and obviously, been the challenge.

I've been waiting 3 months for it to go live on the auction block

This is probably a terrible post but it was very effective.

On the dating apps I would find ones I liked. Open a word doc and drop their pic and general info under neath. As I called them or met them in person I would add pertinent details. If I called or met them again I'd study their doc so I'd be up on all their personal info. Helped me look engaged and thoughtful.

Next was filtering out dead ends or problem candidates. If they filtered me out that was fine, it will happen most of the time. Had some good wife material come through but ultimately wound up reconnecting with a woman I know years ago.

It was a very efficient system but comes with a few caveats. Don't take you dates to the same watering holes. Be mindful of violent exes, ask about them. Be vague about your residence early on.

See I think this is why I struggled so much with dating in todays age. It's common and acceptable to date multiple at once, or one after another, and with online apps it's so easy to have options. I was not raised this way, I'm a one at a time kind of guy.

TI felt like online dating or when dating multiple at once it's just shopping for whatever you liked the most at the time. It's fast paced, now or never and I never felt like there was ever any real connections. Just hammered with questions that gave no real indication of the person. It wasn't until I stopped looking that I found someone that I actually connected with.

Not sure if I'm following correctly; you're saying that you have difficultly interacting with someone if it's implied that you're officially on a date?

Also, specs on M5 please. color/transmission/etc.

No worries man. I've been told the way I structure sentences is peculiar

It's a '08, Silverstone on Black, 6-speed. 119.6k miles on the clock. Minimal impact to the driver-side quarter panel. I will part ways with my f32, invest 80% of the return, and use the remaining 20% (& many paychecks) to build the M5 to perfection.
Not that my f32 is bad. I can see myself selling it tomorrow or driving it for another 5 years... but I have the mind set on investing + M5.

Sounds like a nice spec. I think the car community is finally coming around on the E60 M5, it's the one to have IMO. Every now and then I get the bug to swap out my B7 for an E60 M5; I want that V10 in the worst way. Good luck with it if you end up getting it.

My longest-serving car was a 2010 e60 528i. I still regret selling it, ironically, as I upgraded to my current car...
It's a scary bug. Digs itself deep into you. Then you watch some M539 Restorations and it's over, you're checking the sites daily for the M5 haha

Tell me about it. I had a well set up E60 530i (in my profile), sold it when I moved. There are a couple of cars in my history I wish I would have kept, that's one of them. I love M539's channel too but man oh man does it give me some really, really dumb ideas sometimes...
