Angry Bmw I Drive Keeps Rebooting

Hi Guys,

I have a 2013 BMW 120D M sport and for some reason since yesterday the Idrive keeps rebooting.

It starts up as normal plays music everything working fine then reboots goes black and BMW logo appears then everything works fine only for another two mins before it restarts again and it is an ongoing cycle.

My last 8 digits of my VIN is J815529. I have the smaller screen without Nav and Bluetooth media etc.

This has been doing my head in if anyone knows a way to fix it or can fix it please contact me.

It looks quite similar to this: I Drive Startup Problem. ("DIY Guides and Instructions": just turn it off. )

Cheers Musa129. The fix is quite clearly the unit replacement, posted (more than once, I recall). You can save on the labour cost if you can do it yourself. And of course you can test your luck with diagnostics and software reset. Good luck!

Hi sarabillphoto it was actually still in warranty as I had the extended warranty and didn’t even know. They did replace everything in the end but soon after found out that it was the idrive controls pad which had the problem. My mum spilt water into it and didn’t tell me -_-.
