Bmw 120i (base model) 2017 idirve 5 or 6?

hi i was wondering if i can update my car to the new interface i don't know which is the latest one, im new to the brand and i don't know a lot of things my model year is 2017 but the build year is 2016, thanks!

I havent noticed many differences between idrive 5 and idrive 6......as far as updating to idrive 6 i do not believe it is possible

if you are talking about updating the software of NBT, it could be done but you need to flash its rom which will probably void the warranty.

If you have ID5 it is possible to code it to ID6 lite

It's only one line you need to change which I don't remember off hand but it's there if you search.

You best option is to buy a android screen, is plug and play, right now using Xtrons and has worked good so far after 1 year of use
