We deploy AERO whenever we can. It gives us a tactical advantage. We don’t need the identity, name, etc…..just a basic description.

California is a criminal paradise as it pertains to the courts, but Fontana is in San Bernardino County. They actually prosecute there.

I'm just saying that the suspect had no other reason to be stopped other than shoplifting some clothes, and using a helicopter to search for him seemed a bit excessive when the stuff he stole probably cost less than the aviation fuel they burned. Maybe the Fontana PD was trying to send a message to the public about being strict since the TV cameras were rolling, similar to what Arkansas does by publishing dashcam videos of officers ramming the cars of drivers who try to escape?

Glad to hear that at least one part of California is still trying to uphold the law.....

We all do it. It’s common practice among all the departments to utilize helicopters to assist us in suspect apprehensions for priority and emergent calls. A theft in progress call is a priority call.

He’s doing okay. Thankfully he isn’t death imminent. He had just finished motor training too, so he was new. I hope to get my bike later this year.

Out here, Mayor McCheese of NYC (former LEO) said that the protests are being organized by professional agitators. Many of those arrested at Columbia University on Tuesday night were age 30+, and had long rap sheets of prior arrests at other protests over the years.....

I've told my daughters as they were growing up about The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. No, not the movie, but about people they may come across. Ugly being those who may be mentally ill. Never be complacent because you might not know who you are going to get.

The fact that UCLA "skirmish" happened at 0200, just as the bars are closing. Coincidence???

USC is a PRIVATE college, so they should be much more able to kick people off the property. UCLA (and the other UC) are public, so may have bigger challenges.

The khaki uniforms were the CHP personnel on scene; we wear tan/green. The USC/UCLA nonsense has been going on for over a week and when you contrast it against how Texas handled things, we are weak in our policy and resolve. Both USC/UCLA could have handled this on day 1, but they chose to let the protestors run the show.

The prevailing thought in academia is usually to let the students blow off some steam, especially now as final exams are looming. At least here, the protestors were all staying outside in tents until the professional agitators showed up and took over a campus building at Columbia University. That's when NYPD was asked to take action.

The likely outcome of all this will be a requirement from the feds for all colleges/universities to publicly disclose the equity holdings in their endowments, so potential future students can pick their schools based on this info if it really matters to 98% of them. Divesting from funds that support war is what this whole protest thing started out demanding.....
