From an environment (CO2 reduction) and sales/revenue perspective the previous CEO Toyoda was 100% correct. They never should have replaced him. Toyota did play smart focusing on hybrids.

Other automakers are writing down billions in bad EV investment and slowing or cancelling other EV investment.

Small displacement turbocharged ICE with hybrid is the best path until a better technology than lithium based EV comes to market.

You could argue that the best path is continuing with the modern 6 & 8 cylinder engines that we already have, which are pretty damn effficient, until something truly better AND cheaper is available. My damn M550 can get me 30 mpg on the highway and that’s an all ICE twin turbo V8!

I’m ICE over hybrid, I just mean in comparison to full EV hybrid is better as a bridging tech to reduce CO2.

Hopefully the next generation M3 will look as good as it performs!

Don’t hold your breath. It’ll probably look like the iX and M5 had a baby.

Did you intentionally miss M3 and M4? Or the whole 4 series with the grill that gave birth to the word "ugly" and started this whole BMW design fiasco? People "had to" get used to their appearance b'cos they performed well.

The only good looking cars in BMW line up at the moment are 3 series, Z4, M2 and M8. X models are okay but even looking at iX or XM makes me

Again......a personal opinion.

I was referring to the new models, and I completely forgot about how offensive the M3/4 and 4 is. We owned 2 G80 M3’s and have an iX. I get a bit disgusted every time I look at the front of my car. The M3 looks somewhat manageable with a dark color and carbon ext pack.

Most people I observe to be “car people” either have at least one sedan/coupe or they only have an SUV because of lifestyle and/or budget requirements.

I’m not trying to tell you what to like. Far from it. This is all subjective.

Do you find the current and previous X5 models to be assertive and demanding?
I don’t like any SUV models. Only sedans and coupes, some cabriolets too.

I agree for those models. Currently I like chasses G20, 22, 23, 26.

The electronic dashboards look like cheap plastic stuck on afterthoughts….and that’s what you look at most of the time.

That’s because they are cheap plastic stuck on afterthoughts. I will say they are clear and bright with no glare, so there’s that. It’s nice to have options when it comes to the gauge cluster. But the biggest issue with the tacked on screen is the lowered placement of the A/C vents and the modern approach to little slats for air… and of course the lack of presets buttons is not ergonomic or safe.

The screen itself is good. If they’d recess it into the dash or integrate some other way that was more natural and less forced, then it would be much better. And yes, they should bring back the preset/shortcut buttons.
