To my knowledge, she did not apply for government assistance. She took only social security because she viewed it as restitution - it's money you've paid in yourself. She opposed the forced redistribution of of wealth, as she believed it was not ours to redistribute. If she had collected welfare (i.e., someone else's funds), it would be hypocritical. To reclaim your own earnings from the state was something she saw as decreasing the injustice of being forced to pay it in in the first place.

Well maybe the people she criticized and called parasites, moochers viewed social security as restitution as well. How much you collect is based on how much you paid into the system, that's how social security works.

At the end she was a parasite, moocher, looter...

That's... what I just said? The "mooching" would be those receiving benefits that do not require you to pay in to receive, e.g., welfare. Seeing as she wasn't a part of those benefits, I'm not sure how you'd constitute that as her being a parasite.

You're right, she's the heroine of the Tea party. She had great disdain for people that collect social security.

What the Tea party don't realize Immigrants pay more in taxes than what they receive in benefits. Never the less they like to paint them as moochers.

Good info. My floors get hammered with dog tearing around. He takes a shit then comes inside and is all excited running around like a freak.

If i were you, i'd get stone tile.

I have stone floors in my kitchen. Don't really see a problem. Check out Amtico solid vinyl floors. They make some great tile looking tiles and plank floors. Would probably work better for you since the height of your adjacent floors are already suited for 1/8" thick floors. I have Amtico in my pool bath, laundry room and as an accent wall in my living room. I also have it in the kitchen and baths at my office.

True, but they make floor heating systems. Either way, if the vinyl floor is glued to the concrete slab, it'll be just as cold.

The difference is that stone is a much better conductor of heat than vinyl. So it feels colder because it's sucking the heat out of your floors at a much faster rate.
