Always remember the cardinal rule of cuisine: everything is better with bacon. My standard lasagna recipe. All scratch ingredients is best, but mass-produced ingredients create a good result. 1 lb ground beef 1 lb sausage of choice (standard is sweet Italian) 1-2 slices thick bacon. Bacon permeates the dish so too much would be like eating bacon casserole. 1 lb ricotta cheese 1 lb mozzarella, fresh or shredded 1 wedge parmesan or 1 can Kraft parmesan 1 box (1 lb) lasagna noodles 1 large jar pasta sauce of choice (home made marinara is best, standard is Prego original) 3 eggs Assemble and bake for approx 1 - 1.5 hrs at 350. I like the top pasta layer dry, browned and crispy. Add sauce on the plate when serving. The top crispy noodle is like a tortilla chip, nice crunch and flavor. Heimo loves the beaver tail and feet. I guess when you get hungry enough you will eat most anything

Did you harvest the beaver yourself?
Beavers are known to be pretty busy; wouldn't that make for a tough meat?

No, my hunter friend gave it to me. Despite the not very appetizing appearance ))) beaver meat is surprisingly tasty: something between a rabbit and an elk.

Carne asada tacos.
My wife and kids have basically moved to our house in Tahoe, so I'm home alone all week and making all kinds of stuff...and since I can't invite anyone over, I have lots of leftovers. |

I plan to cook some chicken curry for tonight's dinner. My son's favorite. We will surely have a great dinner and after that, before we go to sleep I will set up the Tomcat mouse killer https://bestratpoison.org/tomcat-mouse-killer-reviews/ to get rid of those rats and have a good night sleep.

The owner of Cuban Pete's in Montclair NJ is so bravely defending himself from executive orders issued by our Governor I made sure I drove over there and had dinner. I very-much enjoyed their churrasco and a small pitcher of mojito. Before I left I had a brief word of encouragement with the owner and made sure he knew I drove 16 miles (about 25 minutes) just to support him.

My DW was at our local beef farm last weekend, and they had beef specially sliced for making rouladen. Not being German, she asked the farmer what rouladen was. She picked a recipe from online, and gave it a shot tonight. Although my doctors would kill me for eating bacon and pickles, it was pretty good for a change over the usual boring stuff that we call dinner.
There aren't many German restaurants around here, but I do want to try it as cooked by a chef familiar with German food to see if there's any difference.....
