True for new. My Ford F150 is 6 years old and the Toyota 4Runner would be of similar age. If I needed real off road capability I might just buy a used Jeep Wrangle or Landcruiser. My F150 4x4 was bought for hauling a trailer cross county to Tennessee. It’s still rather pristine because it’s kept in our garage and never been driven on serious off road adventure.

I know a few people that can easily afford to drive a BMW or Mercedes for heavy off road capability but personally I hate to see an expensive vehicle trashed like the used Jeeps, LandCruisers, or 4Runners I’ve seen over the years. For occasional trips to the sweet corn stand it would sure garner admiration.

Not really worth using the used vs new argument. Which will be worth 50% of MSRP in 5 years?

The remaining parts would need to be completely newly developed and produced. The team is now trying to find a way to implement the project within the available budget.

As for the vehicle itself, it is still not yet clear whether it will be the size of the X5 or more like the X7.
Thank you for the update and hopefully they can bring the concept to fruition
