did they pay Audi for use of silver side mirrors on the M trim
I can't stand the new Nav screen locations on the 3 and 1 series, what were they thinking? I love it in our X3, built into the dash like it belongs there, not just stuck on top of everything. I am sure there are a decent amount of people that don't get Nav to save on cost but how many people buy $40K+ cars and don't get nav when most $20K cars have it now... makes the interior look cheap if you don't have it. If the screen was a pop up I would understand the placement of it, but its fixed! |

second of all, the M135 will be available with xdrive and that will launch 0-60 in about 4.6s, gear ratios are the same. It's just a traction issue to launch that gives xdrive the advantage. At speed an RWD M135 will blow by a 335xi.

That's the whole point, and it works very well. BMW has always made well thought cockpits with perfect ergonomics (allthough not so much during the Bangle periode). The angled center console is one example.

the headlights look a bit bug-eyed in my opinion but I'm liking the rest!

Back in the days of the E28 M5, there was also an M535i, so this is not really a new thing. |

For what?
F2x M135i Hatch has, as every F2x, 6 speed manual or 8-speed sport automatic gearbox. No doubleclutch available of any kind. The 4wd version comes with 8-speed sport auto by default, manual not available with xdrive.

Yep, same here. But no more DCT in the F20. At least not for now. But the new 8-speed sport auto is quite awesome and in many tests and reviews most, or at least many testers say its at least as good and fast as VWs DCT, or even better. So I guess they just don't see a reason to put a hardcore-dct into a car thats eventually just not a proper M-car. In the old 135 the 6-speed autobox was not all bad either, but far from the new 8-speed.

I would LOVE to know why BMW thinks it wouldn't be able to move a bunch of these in the US? Or is it that they don't want to kill 3 and future 2 series sales? This car is soooo cool.

I was originally quoted early december and it is being delivered on 3rd December. Pretty accurate in my experience.

So, do you think the 116i is not a good option? I´m thinking about it and the 118i, sometimes I think the first one is enough for me. But reading messages like yours, I´m in doubt. The 116i, reaches 100Km/h in 8,5 secs...What I think is a really good mark, if you are not Fernando Alonso. Tell me your impressions please. Thank you!!

F21 On its way...
This car is amazing (following a test drive!), great price, fantastic performance, super slick auto gear box and an exhaust note that cannot be described and that no internet sound clip does justice...in sport mode the way is 'dumps' the exhaust at point of gear change qualifies it as the 'ultimate driving machine' in itself for me.
Sadly, I couldn't justify the expected fuel cost as I cover 30,000 miles a year. I currently drive the e90 320d M Sport Edition and after 92000 faithful miles, i'm looking forward to picking up my brand new F21 120d M Sport on 7th Feb. As seems tradition on this forum, I have spec'd the following: Black Sapphire Anthracite Hexagon Cloth/Alcantara interior Adaptive Xenon Headlights (Auto-Headlights) High Beam Assist Rain sensitive wipers Front & Rear parking sensors Extended lighting Package Servotronic Steering Feel free to comment; i'm told these headlights are amazing so any views on that would be appreciated... |
