Review from UK Forum:
"As posted last month, I've certainly bedded these dampers in now with approx. 1000+ miles. The ride in all three EDC settings are harder than stock, but not exactly what I would call night and day. In actual fact it's quite hard to put into words how it behaves as the car body stays super flat (it barely rolls really) but the springs and dampers absorb bumps and imperfections on another level to OEM - I used to spend every second of driving scanning the road for pot holes and grids where as now the car takes these in its stride that I don't worry as much. I'm not sure whether anyone has left Membury services on the M4 eastbound recently but the road surface is borderline dangerous and I hit this with a fully brimmed coffee from Starbucks with my eyes not really on what I was doing until the last minute when I saw the surface holes and BOOM... coffee stays put and no nasty sounds from the suspension, happy chap. I was in shock when I pulled onto the motorway afterwards thinking how bad this would have been stock. I have driven some long motorway journeys in comfort mode and have been pleased with the compliance, like above, it's stiffer but on the pleasant side of so. These drives have been with my wife, full luggage and our 2.5yr old son. In this mode you can still utilise the performance of the motor and really push along, I noticed during heavy acceleration and hitting bumps in the road the car didn't wallow like before and unsettle the traction. Whenever I get to the right road (and, more importantly, childfree) I have been shifting the damping into sport mode, I feel this is not much harder than comfort mode to be perfectly honest but further enhances the steering feel and tightness of the chassis yet still retaining the balance over challenging roads. I have thrown into sport+ mode the odd time but not really had the opportunity to test properly but I imagine this is best for track - I'm at Bedford on 22nd August so will provide more info. then. I may have mentioned earlier than I've had Eibach springs fitted for over 2.5 years on my M3 Comp, these I have retained. I measured wheel arch gap pre fitment and today. The front has lifted by >5mm and the rear >10mm. I am very pleased with this as I felt the Eibach springs actually dropped the car quite abit and made it tricky on ramps etc. The rear lifting by >10mm is also a nice touch as I felt it was sitting a little low especially when laden. All in all, very pleased, one of the best mods for the F8x series. I love my car even more so now!" |

It was a bit tough to tell from the pictures what the stance of this platform with the Evolve-Bilstein dampers on the MSS springs was.
Can anyone who has that setup set the springs at their lowest setting front and back and provide us with measurements from the ground to the fender. Obviously this will differ by rim diameter, so would be great to also include rim diameter. This may be a good uniform way to be able to compare the stance to those of us currently on lowering springs alone.

I got the Evolve B6 dampers installed with Swift Spec-R Springs and Vorshlag Camber Plates. Stance is amazing!
Here is the stance for reference: No spacers, 437M wheels with 265/285 Continental ECS tyres. Drives so much better than the factory EDC and you can distinctly feel the difference between the modes.

Sent you a PM last week. How does the B6 account for the higher weight (particularly rear-biased) of the F83, and thus the need for a stiffer spring, when it seems like the same set is used for the F80 and F82 as well? |

Hm, ok I guess the heavier rear of the F83 might be counteracted by stiffer springs, and not related to the dampers, so the B6 would work for the F83 as long as the springs are F83-specific?

Not too many reviews on here. Can you point us to more reviews, if they exist anywhere?

Hi Imran, looking at these as an alternative to my stock setup which leaves a lot to be desired. Most notably the rebound.
I also have some pretty harsh roads here so I'm not interested in lowering the car all that much. Outside of stock springs, are there any others you recommend pairing with? |

Does anyone have any input on this setup vs KW DDC coilovers? I am looking for an improvement in ride comfort while retaining the ability to hit the track a few times a year.

Imran, I see a lifetime warranty in bimmerworlds description of the standard B6 set up for the F8X. This jives with my recollection of both bilstein and KW offering lifetime warranties to the original purchaser of their suspensions. Where does the discrepancy lie? Is it with the distinction of bilstein UK versus US? Also in addition to the other questions Imran
Did you guys ever develop a B8 shock to run with the MSS HAS spring kit? Do you guys offer any packages for the MSS HAS and B6 dampener that you sell? |
