1. Marketing (a reputable tuner which has a co-operation with BMW ''cannot'' offer the same tunning for 2 different models). 2. All the tuners, at least up to now, offer a tuning box (paralel ECU), which is based on the stock ECU (it alters the sensor signals). Thus, it is limited by the stock ECU in terms of performance.

Hi Fanis,
Are boost pressure sensor 1 and boost pressure sensor 2 actually located in the same plug? I checked the diagram on realm and could only find one boost pressure sensor 13627599906 and I cannot find Turbo sensor |

No, 2 different plugs...one is close to the intercooler (the part number you are saying) and the other one is close to the inlet of the engine (next to the starter motor), part number: 13627599907.

I see you are an experienced owner the 116i! I also own a 116i and are about to buy the Hartge ECU. I already talked to Hartge and they offered me also to change the end part of the exhaust system (buy the exhaust of the 118i). This would cost approx. 400 EUR, so I would like to be sure before buying. So, do you have experience in it? Have you tried (or heared about) to replace the exhaust/will this fit the 116i? Thanks for your reply in advance! |

Hi, Do you know why Hartge doesn't specify the acceleration improvement in the area 0-100 km/h...I a little strange I think,-Could I be that the tuning doesn't affect the acceleration time from 0-100??

1. This measurement is highly affected by the quality of the tarmac and the competence of the driver. Even the same driver cannot make to identical launches from 0km/h. The roling acceleration is more reliable. 2. The tunning box offers the most mainly on higher speeds, where the car seems to slow down. My experience was that the car felt quicker after 120 km/h and especially above the 150 km/h mark.

http://preisliste.ac-schnitzer.de/ac...170&ID_NR=8949 Does the 125d have much more aggressive gearing than the 120d? Otherwise I can't see why there is such a difference.

Edit: Now I just checked and final drive in the 125d is a bit shorter than the one in the 120d (3.39 vs 3.15)

The improvements for 0-100km/h timing using these kind of chip boxes will not be so high in order to reach the numbers of the standard superior model.
I checked the infos provided by several tuners for different brands (also for VW/Audi with MTM and Abt). Other upgrades are needed so the total cost will be almost the same as the price difference between the standard models. |

Is there any official Hartge dealer in Turkey? You can send an email to Hartge and ask them about a deler in Turkey or if they can sell directly to you.
Another option may be to order it from Greece. The Hartge dealer is a company called Speed and Style and the owner (Nikos) is very helpful. Have a look here: http://www.speedandstyle.gr/index.php?sid=27

I directly made a contact with Hartge DE via e-mail and they informed me that they do not have an official dealer in Turkey unfortunately But according to their information given to me,they said that they can directly send the ecu to me if i order and pay the price.. The price would be approximately 1.500 euros without shipment costs.. But in my opinion it is very expensive for a powerbox.. Could you please inform me about your local dealer's price for this box in Greece? Thanks again

As a summary, I think, that kit will not do much without changing the exhaust system. On the other hand it will definitely cancel the warranty. At least in Turkey.

Consumption is the same...didn't notice any difference. The thing is with more power I tend to go faster more often (and sometimes just accelerate for the sake of it!!), so consumption goes up. But with the same driving as before, consumption is the same (maybe a little bit better, like 3%).
