Nope no more that the Solyndra grift had on clean energy. The grift goes on and the tax payers pay.

It is a popular delusion that the government wastes vast amounts of money through inefficiency and sloth. Enormous effort and elaborate planning are required to waste this much money.

The company, which could not be reached for comment for this story—its website has shut down—is one of 16 major solar outfits that have filed for bankruptcy in 2023 and 2024, according to Solar Insure, which offers warranties and monitoring for homeowners who have solar. They include Pink Energy and Vision Solar, which like other operators in the industry faced regulatory action and numerous consumer complaints. Customers are left with solar panels on their homes that they may or may not want. Some are working with lenders to find another company to take over the maintenance of their panels; others are just trying to get out of the loans.

In April, a TikToker said she got stuck in her Tesla for 40 minutes during a software update while parked in the sun. She said the temperature in the car soared to 115°F while the EV updated.

A 67 YO Brit, a doctor, who went for a trek on a Greek island in 40C (104F) temps but somehow missed his return route path and even with an extended sun umbrella suffered heat stroke and died yards from a bar before anyone noticed him.

In all seriousness I read about this story a few weeks ago. My wife and I are fairly intrepid and travel frequently. Terrible situation and such a fluke. One of my mentor's took a tumble on a trail outside of Phoenix and almost died. This was on a routine trail. Really have to be careful.

Maybe don't travel so often. An uncle in Australia arranged a camping trip and while taking a dip in a seemingly calm river a freak wave hit a friend of his who was a smoker and he died from cardiac arrest.
