Our 116i has the non adaptive M-Sport suspension. The adaptive version was also available as an option, but I didn't want that. I prefer consistent dampers and steering assist.

It is an F20. We wanted back doors for practicality. I am happy with both the suspension and the steering. The steering feedback is a little bit vague, though. I think it has to do with very small caster angles in the front suspension.

Same here. What color did you get? Have you done any mods to it so far?

It is Valencia Orange. I have installed mupflaps behind the front wheels, and I am running second hand aftermarket BBS wheels with non runflat tyres. Otherwise I haven't changed anything.

Do you mean the steering changes accordingly to the sports and comforts mode?
When I switched the modes to sports the steering feels a little stiffer.
Oh my........ I was really hoping that the brochure was wrong with the non adaptive M suspension... Servotronic (proper term should be variable sport steering) is something like when you are at a stop, it takes lesser steering rotation to make a larger wheel turn..

Notice that there are 3 steering options.
- Regular steering.
- Adaptive steering (variable assist)
- Variable steering (unlinear steering, slow around center, quicker towards ends)
We can't spec our BMWs in our country, Malaysia (At most just the seat colour usually, nothing in hardware options)...

Servotronic and variable sport steering is not the same.
Servotronic means variable power assist.
The variable sport steering is servotronic plus an unlinear steering rack that is geared quicker towards the ends.

I think you might be confusing these options with active steering, which was an option on cars like the E60 5 series. It had a real variable steering ratio with few turns from lock to lock at low speed, and many turns at high speeds. This is not available as an option for the F20/F21.

That's a really nice color! I don't think we have that color here as an option. Also that rear sticker and your rims. I like them. You do tracks too?

Sweet ride! I like the Estoril blue too. Man I wish we have more F20's here. I haven't seen a lot of them on the road. Only 3 so far!

Yes, I sometimes participate in track days. The coming weekend, it will go sideways around an ice track on a frozen lake.

Omg share a video here if possible! Track days here in malaysia are only fun when it rains but it will never snow!

That looks just the most awesome fun!
So you had TC fully off, i.e. switch held down for >5 seconds, right?

And that switches everything back to Comfort mode, i.e. steering, throttle response, suspension stiffness and gearchange speed (if auto), right?

Still find that annoying on the part of BMW. Let the driver decide how he wants to configure his own car's driving systems!

BTW, I think the vid is more fun when you can see the arm twirling and steering wheel going round, so if you can, try that this time. Rear window mount is good, although getting the exposure setting with a snow background is going to be tricky. Otherwise an externally mounted GoPro showing your arm twirling could be fun too!

I always use DSC completely off at these ice track events. It does indeed put the engine response in comfort mode. The car I drive have no adaptive steering or suspension or gearbox, but I think it would have been possible to set some of these to sport mode if I had them. No way to get the engine set to Sport, unfortunately.

The weather forecast says snowy weather this weekend, so I doubt that I will do any recording. There are plenty of other cars running around with GoPro cameras, though. I agree that the best camera angle is one that has the steering wheel included. I don't have any suitable mounts to do so.

I am more into taking still pictures than video, usually.

If DSC is OFF, I still have Sport steering with my adaptive steering. I do would prefer having Sport Engine/pedal response though
