I've gotten better over the years as far as coming on time. 15 minutes early is appreciated, but I try to come 1 or 2 hours early sometimes. What you put in is what you get out usually. Don't cut yourself short, though. I would rather come late if it's a matter of taking care of my health and safety as an exception.
Good topic, and thanks for posting up. |

I was splitting hairs with my schedule this morning to juggle back-to-back and overlapping meetings with an upcoming dentist appointment. I was feeling RUSHED when I walked in at the dentist office at 10:18 for my 10:20. I came in apologizing and the full show thinking I'd have a mile of paperwork to do. They appreciated my dedication and consideration for their schedule. Ended up not charging me to put some type of special enamel stuff on one of my teeth that's been giving me trouble lately as a "thank you" for being considerate.
Take that late-showers! |

Grew up in a conflicted house.
Mom was punctual. Dad not so much. Whenever Dad was the driver we were never on time. Decided to take after my Mom. So I am punctual. But I have to mention one time Dad's failure to be on time paid off. Mom and Dad had plans to meet a couple at the Kansas City Hyatt Regency to together attend a dance there. They were late as usual with Dad the driver. Mom went inside to find the couple. Dad took off to park the car. Mom didn't find the couple. She looked through the front glass and thought she saw Dad and started out to meet him. Just then the walkway collapsed. The blast of air blew Mom out the front door onto the sidewalk. Of course a number of those inside and under the walkway (and on it) were not so lucky. Dad came running up and Mom was ok. The found the couple they were supposed to meet. They had walked out from under the walkway towards the back of the hotel and were not injured. So being late in this case was was probably very fortuitous for Mom and Dad and maybe the couple they were meeting. Side note: After some time Mom and Dad received letter of a settlement. Included was a check for several thousand dollars. But Dad declined it they telling the insurance company they were not injured or really suffered any. But the insurance company insisted and of course wanted a release signed. So Dad obliged. |
