It's a render taken from an official image. right down to the position of the car and the Vermillion Red color it is exact to the original. You can layer one on top of the other to see how exact it is.
But this is the face of the new BMW 1er Sporthatch.

If this is an April fools joke, it is very lame, IMHO. There's no creativity or really any comedy in it. We know the 1 series will be revealed soon anyway, so getting people to believe the story is really no feat at all, its just lame.
It would be like telling your coworker you have a meeting in an hour and then saying, "Psyche! Ha - you believed me!". Or, maybe like saying, "Hey did you hear there was another tremor in Japan today?", and then saying "No I'm kidding! Can't believe you actually fell for that one!!! " Ghey. I'm pretty sure that this is an artists rendering based on the mostly-uncovered spyshots, and taking into account other known facts about the car. Whether its genuinely from Autobild or whatever, who knows. We'll have pics and info from BMW real soon now anyway, so, whatever. |

Great, thanks SCOTT.
Looking forward to hearing about the engine situation. N20B20 is obviously going to be there, but I am curious if we see a new I4 diesel or the existing N47D20. Plus, looking forward to see if the "N13B16" shows up, and the turbo 3 cyl as well. Details soon please. |

If this is it then BMW have dropped the ball and missed an opportunity to make a great looking car. The rear end will have to be something special to make up for the disappointing 'face'. It just looks too similar to the old one- even the claims of a 'shark' nose have been wide of the mark, and dont get me started on the headlights, it makes it look like the cartoon character 'Droopy' with eye bags. Should have had headlights like the 5 GT IMO

I like it-- am sure seeing it in person might change some people's view about it.

They aren't really square, just less round....I like them... Takes away from the surprised look of the current 1er headlights...this, along with the 1M, looked sort of pissed off at the front now...much more aggresive IMO..which is nice

Headlights apart, this looks no different to the current hatch. The spy shots seem to indicate that the rear is virtually the same too.
Can't see why everyone's shitting candy over this!? |

Man a 1-series sedan is one of my practical dream cars! Although this is a crude PS, I sincerely hope BMW has something like this in the pipeline especially with Audi building an A3 sedan.
It seriously would be a modern day E30 sedan.....

Not sure if this is known here, but the pre-LCI version of the 1 series sport hatch has been on sale all around the world for some time now. Why do people act as if it is a whole new car? In any case, I do hope they bring this particular model to the USA, I would love to own one.

It's a bit of a let down if this is accurate, it's not a lot different than the existing 3 & 5 door hatches. Just a slightly updated front end, it will probably have just as lousy packaging as the current model, ever tried to sit in the back seat of a 5 door, not a place for an adult, it's midgets and pre teens only.
