The more you learn the worse this gets. Odd they would chose to locate this division in U.K.?
Flock Safety's usage in this sector primarily operates through its U.K.-based division, Flock Cover. This platform provides connected fleet insurance to commercial operators, utilizing driving data, telematics, and vehicle tracking to calculate risk profiles and lower insurance premiums based on driver behavior.

Most of the Red states have figured out that ICE has access to this data so expect a major $hit storm from the same folks that think having an ID to vote is the same as a poll tax.

Might be able to top that. San Diego school district at one point had a fully armored MRAP before the local backlash was so great they decided to return it back to the DOD.

What could possibly go wrong? I'm astounded that this has gotten this far. We have mobile devices that spy and track us and we have newer cars that monitor our "alertness" and track us and now we have license readers on a national network that track us. George Orwell could never have dreamed this up.

Flock Safety claims a 93% accuracy rate for its automated license plate readers (ALPR). However, independent evaluations, such as those from surveillance research firm IPVM, and watchdog agencies measure the read error and false-positive rates at roughly 10%.
Because Flock systems query multi-state databases, these reading errors—or state misidentifications—can result in false hotlist alerts.

Typical fucking bacon. These dudes are so power tripping anymore, it’s comical. Years ago there was a cop in my town who I played ice hockey with. Was always is the car scene but was writing tickets galore for all the car scene shit. Tint/mods ect. They finally got him on some shit and he got fired. I think he got his ass beat about once a week for awhile once he was whacked. Well deserved for that cock sucker

Crazy. The town here is once giant cult, and they love it. Any time there is mention of crime in town - it's gotta be a "tan" person. Nope it's always the rich melanin-deficient kids.

Where do you here "tan" person references?
The cafes? The car wash? In line at the grocery?

What do you mean by melanin deficiency?
Did they lose it? Were they shorted of their quota? Are they missing out?

Cult?
Please elaborate.

Yes to your question (cafes, grocery store, etc.) There are also town social media pages/groups, neighborhood groups, etc., and every time something happens it's always blamed on people of color by the "melanin-deficient" i.e., white majority. Our area is all over the news for the recent & constant anti-Indian, anti-Muslim & anti-Hispanic vitriol. They don't try to hide it.

In my neighbood specifically, my next door neighbor came out - in his border patrol or whatever uniform & started harassing Hispanic workers I had remodeling my home. I had to go out there and tell him to get the F off my property. They've also called the police on another neighbor who was having his trees trimmed by, you guessed it, Hispanic landscapers.

There's also a concerted effort to not sell homes in my neighborhood to people of color. One neighbor took their home off the market because they said the only offers they got were from Indian families. The house has been sitting empty for 2 years now. They'd rather keep paying a mortgage on a 4,000 sq ft house, than sell to a non-white family. Not kidding.

There was a recent heroin ring busted. Immediately in all these online groups it was "I bet it's those trailers or aprtments over by the train tracks, we need to bulldoze them & get those people out of our town". Yeah turns out it was the rich white kids in the million $ neighborhood.

By cult I mean all the botoxed, lip-injected stay-at-home wives driving their white Escalades who act as if they need to protect the town from any "outsiders".

There are more counseling offices & child/adolescent counselors in a 4 sq. mi radius in this town than I've seen anywhere I've ever lived. That should tell you something.

afadeev doesn't miss the point of the 4th amendment, he is convinced that old document that got us through 250 years is out dated for today's technology. What afadeev wants is "The Constitution V2.0." Maybe written by the same people that brought you the PATRIOT Act or the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) because we all know they were all about protecting the civil rights of Americans.

Me, I like to stay with what works, so I prefer legal remedies: There are several working through the system now. The issue is one of "Standing" as it's hard to show damage from loss of data in this situation. Flock was smart to limit the data saving to 30 days but who here thinks that this data is not being harvested?

Federal Fourth Amendment Challenge u2b]2vErTO_doMc[/u2b
  • Schmidt v. City of Norfolk (No. 26-1227): Two Virginia residents backed by the Institute for Justice filed a federal lawsuit arguing that a city-wide camera dragnet capturing daily movements violates the Fourth Amendment. A federal judge dismissed the suit, stating the 21-day rolling data window isn't exhaustive enough to violate privacy standards yet, but the plaintiffs have appealed to the Fourth Circuit. url="https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/supreme-court-just-lit-fuse-130900307.html"]1[/url
California Data Sharing & Privacy Lawsuits url="https://www.classlawgroup.com/flock-safety-license-plate-reader-cameras-lawsuit"]1[/url
  • El Cajon / State Attorney General Case: In October 2025, California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit against the City of El Cajon for systematically violating state law by sharing Flock ALPR data with out-of-state agencies and federal immigration authorities. url="https://www.classlawgroup.com/flock-safety-license-plate-reader-cameras-lawsuit"]1[/url
  • Class-Action over Millions of Scans: Residents in San Jose and other California cities launched class-action complaints against Flock Safety and local police departments, alleging their systems illegally share California driver location information with out-of-state and federal law enforcement agencies.

I agree with the legal remedies. I'm not sure what afadeev wants or doesn't want. But the idea of the Constitution's 4th Amendment is to prevent the use of practices such as Flock cameras (edit to track citizens of the USA by the Local, State, or Federal Government.

Public spaces are not constrained by the 4th Amendment, in any way shape or form.
Information you freely expose in public spaces and roads, like your license plate and stickers on your car, are treated as voluntarily shared, meaning no reasonable expectation of privacy are attached. Thus you don't need a warrant to "observe" and "report" on it any more than an individual would need a warrant to take personal pictures of people and objects in public spaces (we obviusly don't).

I am not a lawyer, nor do I advocate for "Constitution V2.0".

Just stating the obvious - no-one foresaw surveillance potential from ALPRs in the 18th century when US Constitution was drafted. What used to be "in public space" implied and provided anonymity as recently as a generation ago. Today, those anonymous public spaces have all but been erased through ubiquitous and inexpensive video, audio, drone, and RF surveillance. Add to that the fact that nearly every individual voluntarily carries RF ID beacons (cell phones) on them at all times, and brings them into their beds, and any technically capable organization that cares to do so can track who goes where, and sleeps with whom, in what bed, 24/7.

Thus, many technologically enabled surveillance methods have FAR outgrown protections imagined when 4th Ammendement was drafted.

Your statement is incorrect. The Fourth Amendment does constrain government actions in public spaces—it protects people (not just places) from unreasonable searches and seizures wherever they have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
I know you're big on proof:
Katz v. United States (1967)The Supreme Court established that the Fourth Amendment follows people, not just physical locations. In Katz, the government bugged a public telephone booth. The Court ruled this was a "search" under the Fourth Amendment because Katz had a reasonable expectation of privacy in his conversation, even in a publicly accessible space.

Exactly Prosper thinks they're Southlake or Highland Park. And yes, Frisco is a hot topic because "they're being invaded" by the Indians.

One of my favorite things about being a professor at major university, is the diversity of my classes (even though Abbot is doing his best to ruin that). Most of my Teaching Assistants have been foreign students & lovely human beings.

I'm not from TX or the South, so this overt racism is not how I grew up.

But - back on topic, Prosper PD posted online that they were able to recover a resident's stolen vehicle several states away - so I guess these Flock cameras are awesome.

To be 'fair'.

Go down to the 'Fair' Park area in your all shined up BMW. Cruise around. Go in somewhere for a bite.
You'll probably catch a dose of so called overt racism yourself.

I don't see either situation as racism. I see turfs.

Been down to Fair Park a lot in my shiny BMWs. In fact going to a concert down there in a couple weeks. We always grab a bite before hand. I've even parked my BMW on the street down there. No issues.

Funny looking at these Flock camera maps online, there are more in my neighborhood than in Fair Park. I guess my neighbood is more dangerous/more crime
