New F20 1-series Spy Video Footage
BIMMERPOST NEWS New F20 1-series Spy Video Footage This is the first time the F20 has been captured on video in this more advanced camouflage stage. We've already posted many photos, but seeing the car in motion always gives a more lifelike perspective. The F20 1-series hatchback is expected to make its world premiere at the Frankfurt Autoshow in September (see: http://www.bimmerpost.com/future-bmw/). In usual BMW fashion, the Coupe body style should arrive roughly 1 Year later, and would be expected as a 2013 model. BMW M will also have its hands at the new 1-Series and an M version should arrive 2 Years after the arrival of the hatchback this year. Rumors have been afloat as to whether the next generation 1-Series Coupe would indeed be spun off as its own series, presumably the 2-Series, which opens the door for the 1M to be renamed more properly as the M2. Head on over to Auto Motor und Sport for the F20 video: http://bcove.me/vf1j53qq

Too bad those tail lights aren't using LEDs. Volkswagen (e.g Passat CC) orange tail lights are *instant* on/off. Those orange tail lights are very slow to get lit and to turn off. I don't like that !

The bonnet looks a bit longer in this picture, long enough for an I6, but who knows. Let's see, If an M2 comes out two years after this fall's introduction of the new 1'er, I will probably be ready to trade by then.
I wonder if BMW/M considered calling the 1M something like the M1' (M1 prime)? I don't see why they could not use the M1 name, unless they were planning on resurrecting it. That would be cool.

At least this time around, people are not going to say that the Hofmeister kink is a copy from the new Opel Astra (that was the case with the previous 1er hatch and the last gen Astra)

it looks like it has grown in size, lets hope there is no massive addition of weight if there is any, and no front wheel drive option as well, and an m version coming sooner than the current one had, though following its predecessor path, and may be a lighter CSL version in the future, that would be perfect!!

That would be cool, but history would suggest otherwise.
