18" 400m wheels on f20 114d?
Hello!
First forum post here, can’t find an answer to this question anywhere online! I’ve owned my f20 114d for a while and slowly been adding msport parts onto it just to make it look a little nicer. I’m thinking of putting the 18” BMW 400m wheels onto it but I’m not 100% sure if they would fit… does anyone have an idea? The listing on eBay for the wheels I’m looking at mentions in the description the fronts are wrapped in 225/45/18 tires and rears are 255/40/18. Thank you! |

Hello!
400 are for the 3 Series: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=36_1747. You need 436 (or whatever else for the 1 Series): https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=36_1761. (Compare the rim specs - no match, unless you find them close enough to try.) Added: M-Sport package featured 18" light alloy M Star-spoke style 386 M - (see the brochure attached, part 2, page 24) https://f20.1addicts.com/forums/show...6#post30013166. Good way to spoil the ride and handling....
Remember the suspension is designed for the unsprung weight of the existing wheel and tye combination (as shown o the drivers B pillar). Don't forget to advise your insurers too or you may find they won't pay out if you crash and it's your fault... I never have understood the need to go big on wheels and tyres just for the 'look'. |
