Car starts, misfires then cuts out after 5 seconds
Hi all,
I’m wondering if anyone may have had a similar experience / know where to point me in the right direction. I have a 2012 BMW M135i, It has been giving me trouble in recent months, I have been getting a lean fuel mixture error code, but has been running ok. One day, it had been running on the driveway, and it cut out. It was low on fuel so I filled it up. It started back up, ran for 5 seconds and cut out. If I try to restart it, it just cranks. If I turn it off, then try start it again it will run for 5 seconds and cut out. In those 5 seconds, it runs lumpy. I am getting error code 152008: Ignition circuit, voltage supply - cylinder bank or engine failure. It is really bugging me now, battery is fully charged. I have checked all engine related fuses in engine bay, boot and passenger footwell (FEM). It has had new spark plugs, new coil packs, and a new ignition/injector loom. Still same fault occurring. Is there an ignition/fuel injection relay on the F20 135? Although I have tested the supply to each coil and they all get 12v even after it has cut out. Could it be my DME? Ignition output? How do I test this? My DME is loaded with Bootmod3. Could it be injector related even though the code is ignition? Any other ideas please? I just want it back on the road 🥹 |
