Squeaking noice when turning wheel
Hello, i recently bought a BMW 116D, after a few days it started making a squeeking noice when turning steeringwheel at low speeds / standstill. When inspecting the shock absorbers i saw that one of the springs was rubbing unevenly when turning. While the other one went smoothly.
The noice is clearly louder inside the car than outside. Outside the sound is barley audiable. Any thoughts? |

Hello. In the model's early days there were many complaints of the steering column squeaks. Something about bushing, I recall. I never had that. Most had it fixed under warranty, I guess/recall(?) BMW even acknowledged the issue and did "something".
Here's a quick find: . And by the way, it's interesting to see the clutch pedal damper exposed in the video. It reminds me of the must have modification to the car with a manual transmission: https://f20.1addicts.com/forums/show...9#post21102679. |
